After major delays due to coronavirus pandemic, the second series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK finally hit our screens back in January and not only saved us from complete boredom in lockdown, but also introduced us to 12 fierce new queens who were competing to be crowned the UK’s Next Drag Race Superstar.
Among the stars of the series was A’Whora, who was dubbed the fashion queen of series two for her jaw-dropping runway looks and also joined Lawrence Chaney, Tayce and Bimini Bon Boulash in the iconic United Kingdolls.
After finishing the show in fifth place, A’Whora has gone on star in the video for Little Mix’s hit single Confetti and even presented TOWIE spin-off show Dragged Out. However, the London-based queen has also faced a number of controversies since rising to fame.
Here’s everything you need to know…
Who is A'Whora?
A'Whora is the stage name of George Boyle, a British drag queen who rose to fame of the second series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK. Before appearing on the show, they studied at the London College of Fashion and launched their own Le'Boy George. A'Whora has also modelled for Vogue Italia and designed a collection for H&M.
How old is A'Whora?
A'Whora is currently 25 years old. They were born on 22 September 1996.
Where is A'Whora from?
A'Whora is originally from Worksop but is now based in London.
Did A'Whora date Tayce?
One of the biggest talking points of Drag Race UK's second series was the rumoured relationship between A'Whora and her co-star and best friend Tayce. The pair hinted they'd dated in the past, with many of the queens speculating there was still a spark between them.
Speaking after she was eliminated from the show, A'Whora confirmed that she and Tayce had been a thing in the past, they "amped up" their relationship on screen. She explained, "Someone gave them a little nudge nudge and a wink wink and said you know these two have had a little sumn sumn, so we just at that point was like girl, whatever happens, they’re going to ride it out, they’re going to try and roll with it so we’ve got to roll with it too.
"So we just kept amping it up. We kept feeding them like little bits like fish bites, just to get the little peckers going, get them little horns on the rise. And I think you know… it created good TV."
Who is A'Whora's boyfriend?
A'Whora is currently dating podcaster Myles Dobson. The pair went public on Instagram earlier this year when she shared a series of romantic snaps with the caption, "I’m in love with @mylesdobson ❤️ and that’s all you need to know."

RuPaul's Drag Race terminology (slider)
AFAB
AFAB is an acronym used to refer to drag queens who are assigned female at birth like Victoria Scone, who is the first cisgender female drag performer to appear on any franchise of RuPaul's Drag Race EVER.
Beat
To beat your face is to apply your make-up flawlessly
Charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent
Charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent are the four qualities Ru is looking for in the next Drag Race Superstar. It's also an acronym for a VERY rude word that we're definitely not allowed to publish.
Cisgender
Sometimes shortened to cis, cisgender is the label given to someone whose gender identity matches the sex they were assigned at birth.
Condragulations
The dragged up version of 'congratulations' and how RuPaul praises the winners of the week.
Eleganza extravaganza
A runway category in which the contestants must serve their best, most elegant drag.
Glamazon
Another amalgamation of two words - 'glamorous' and 'Amazon' - as well as the name of one of RuPaul's biggest hits, Glamazon refers to a tall, assertive, beautiful, self-confident woman.
Lip sync for your life
The queens who find themselves in the bottom two of the week must battle for their place in the competition in a lip sync for their life. The one who impresses Ru the most gets to stay on the show, while the other must leave the competition.
Reading
Essentially, reading is critiquing or criticising and it's usually done in a savage or hilarious way. Each season, Ru opens the 'library' and gives the queens the chance to read each other in a mini challenge.
Realness
Realness means to look or do some authentically. The queens usually serve realness with their runway looks.
Shantay, you stay
Whoever wins the lip sync is told 'Shantay, you stay' by RuPaul. This means that they have kept their place in the competition and live to fight another week.
Sashay away
The contestant who loses the lip sync for your life is told to 'Sashay away'. This means they have lost their place in the competition and will be going home.
Tea
Tea usually refers to gossip but can also be used to mean someone's truth.
Tuck
Although not all queens do this before getting into drag, tucking refers to the act of pulling back your, ahem, junk while dragging up.
Why did A'Whora fall out with Veronica Green?
Veronica Green appeared on the second series of Drag Race UK alongside A'Whora but was forced to pull out of the competition when she tested positive for coronavirus. Just as Veronica made her comeback in series three, a video of A'Whora branding her "Veronica Mean" and spoiling her early elimination during a game of Snog, Marry, Kill surfaced online.
She said, “I would kill Veronica Mean, because why? Because she’s sh-t, she’s annoying [and] she’s a little c--t backstage. She gets kicked out pretty early on season three, so why not f--k her off again?”
In the wake of the viral video, A’Whora issued a public apology to Veronica on Twitter and insisted she was “deeply sorry” for her remarks. She wrote, “Speaking on the video that surfaced from a show between me & Tayce many months back, I want to apologise publicly to Veronica, my priority before this statement after seeing the video was to apologise to Veronica myself directly first hand.
“In that situation on the video we were asked to play a game of snog, marry, avoid which is something we are asked to do at the mid/end of our shows, each time being different answers and different people, it’s light hearted and a time for us to read our sisters, give gossip or tease the crowd. Nothing in which I said was meant in malice, harm or to try and damage someone’s character.
“I take full ownership and responsibility of what I said and in how the nature of us was perceived I am also not proud of it. In this situation I had gotten drunk with the girls and being playful in my Q&A section, but that is still no excuse. Veronica is someone who I have never had an issue with, someone who is kind, loyal and stands up for what she believes in and for that I have always had huge respect for her!”
Veronica also revealed A'Whora had reached out to her privately but she had ignored her apology and even quit the series two WhatsApp group in the wake of the remarks.

What has A'Whora said about blackfishing accusations?
After sharing a picture with her boyfriend recently, A’Whora was accused of blackfishing – which is when people change their skin colour or features to appear black or racially ambiguous – after many social media users noticed her deep tan.
However, the queen hit back and claimed her tan was a result of a trip abroad. She wrote, “I'm not allowed to speak on where I have been due to NDA and contract but because I have been filming for three weeks in another country outdoors all day everyday in 32+ degree heat, yes, I do have a tan, no this is not injections, no this is not product, neither is it me trying to change the color of my skin or appropriate another race.
"I can't control this and yes you may all continue to hound me about using SPF and certain sunblock products but due to my skin contain (psoriasis) prior to filming the show I wasn't able to use certain products on my skin in order to enable it to heal."
A’Whora added, "I don't feel a need to have to explain but I'm tired of everyone coming for me at any given opportunity to try and tear me down without even giving me a chance, I'm tired of being made to feel like a terrible person each and everyday because you choose to simply not like me for something you've seen on TV or online! However, I am a person and I do have a life beyond everything that you expect me to talk about.
"I'm not going to speak anymore on this as I would never do the things being accused of me, my skin is something I only wish would be clear and allow me to feel comfortable on stage, with my partner, when doing shoots and trusting the airbrushing, like this is my personal thing and to have it taken out out of context without anyone knowing my situation is just breaking me.
"I can handle your constant hate and negativity towards me but commenting on my appearance from my face to my skin is just becoming too much for me to deal with 24/7."
Does A'Whora have Instagram?
Yep, you can follow her at @awhora.
