It’s been a few weeks since the first series of Love is Blind UK came to an end with that explosive reunion episode, but there’s still no signs of the drama letting up.
Following the reunion, it came to light that Demi Brown is no longer friends with her co-star Jasmine Johnson despite them being close on the show, while Sabrina Egerton let slip that Steven Smith had invited his ex to their wedding.
Now, Catherine Richards – who recently debuted her new relationship with co-star Jake Singleton-Hall – has revealed that she’s been blocked by one of her co-stars as rumours of a secret feud between the cast swirl online.
Speaking in a new interview, Cat explained how she no longer talks to her ex Freddie Powell because he blocked her after coming face-to-face with her new man at the show’s launch party.
“It’s sad because you know, I saw Freddie was quite upset at the launch. He gets really overwhelmed in big settings, I’ve known this about him for the longest time, and the first person to go up to him and give him a big hug was Jake and he just didn’t want it,” Catherine told On Demand Entertainment.
“And throughout the whole launch, I said, ‘Look, you’re my priority tonight. Jake’s fine, he’s with the boys, like I want to focus on you to make sure you’re okay’, because I know he doesn’t like this big environment.”
Catherine continued, “He just blocked me and that’s pretty much been it.”
The dental nurse turned reality star revealed that she had hoped to remain friends with her ex, but he wasn’t interested.
She said, “I’m feeling fine, but the thing is, I tried to reach out to him last year, like before Christmas and said, ‘I think we can be very good friends and he was literally like, ‘No, I don’t want to know you’.”
Catherine previously hinted at tension between the cast when she took part in an Instagram Q&A last month.
When asked how her relationship with the other girls on the show was, she replied, “@reelouise31 is my girl,” referring to Ria Prosser, one of the cast members who did not get engaged on the show.
Catherine’s answer didn’t refer to any of the show’s main cast members and another fan asked, “How can the rest of the girls are not friends with you?”
Keeping her answer short, Catherine cryptically replied with an eyes emoji.
