These autumnal weekends don't feel the same without The X Factor on the tellybox, do they? Well, thankfully, The X Factor: Celebrity finally kicks off on Saturday 12th October and sees a whole host of famous faces - from former TOWIE-type Megan McKenna to actual Martin Bashir - putting their vocal chops to the test.

Among the celebs involved are 2018 Love Island stars Eyal Booker, Samira Mighty, Wes Nelson and Zara McDermott; going by the collective name of, um, The Islanders.

And guess what? They're well up for a collaboration with Ed Sheeran.

The foursome are hoping to make it to the live finals – and then the possibilities are endless. Chatting exclusively to heat magazine, Eyal said they’re plotting long-term stardom. “We want to be a successful band,” he said. “Release a few songs. And then go on tour. I’d love to work with Ed Sheeran.”

His bandmate Wes chipped in: "People go on The X Factor with no musical background and end up so successful, so there’s no reason it can’t happen to us. We’re bringing the shock factor."

He added, "We just want to be known for something other than dating."

Hear that, Mr Sheeran? Get ready for that epic collab.
