Holidate
It just wouldn't be Christmas without a cheesy rom-com would it? And Netflix's latest offering, Holidate, starring Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey as two strangers who offer to be each others' platonic plus ones only to catch feelings for real, delivers all you could want on that front.
Nativity!
Released in 2009, our hearts can't help but melt for the quirky teachers and school children in this Christmas classic. Martin Freeman stars as a reluctant director of a primary school nativity play, but there are high stakes. Will the school get to go to Hollywood? Catch the film on Netflix to find out.
Nativity! 2
If you're not through with Nativity! fun, why not give the sequel a go. David Tennant plays twin brothers Donald and Roderick and is tasked with creating a Christmas number one worthy song with his pupils. A trek through Wales, plenty of singing and loads of laughs - it's a lighthearted Christmas mainstay.
The Princess Switch
The Princess Switch stars Vanessa Hudgens as Margaret, the gorgeous Duchess of Montenaro, who switches places with Stacy, a 'commoner' from Chicago, who looks exactly like her.
The Princess Switch 2: Switched Again
If like us, you couldn't get enough of The Princess Switch, you'll be pleased to know Netflix have released a sequel. This time around, Vanessa Hudgens also plays a THIRD lookalike who threatens to ruin Margaret's Christmas coronation.
The Christmas Chronicles
Starring Kurt Russell as Santa Claus, The Christmas Chronicles is from the producer of Home Alone and Harry Potter. The film follows the story of a brother and sister who decide to stay up for Santa, sneaking onto his sleigh causing it to crash and nearly derail Christmas!
The Holiday Calendar
A struggling but talented photographer inherits an antique advent calendar which seems to predict the future! Will her magical calendar lead her to love this Christmas?The film stars Kat Graham and Quincy Brown.
A Christmas Prince
Released in 2017, A Christmas Prince is a romantic comedy following a magazine journalist called Amber Moore, played by Rose McIver - known for her role in the 2009 film, The Lovely Bones. Amber goes to cover a press conference with the crown prince Richard, who is set to take the throne following his father's recent death.
A Very Murray Christmas
A Very Murray Christmas is a comedy starring Bill Murray, Mitch Glazer, and Sofia Coppola. The film takes place on Christmas Eve as a snowstorm sets in and Bill Murray soon realises that the guests for his live Christmas special are having to cancel. Despite this, he is encouraged to continue with the show.
Blackadder's Christmas Carol
It might have been nearly three decades ago when it first aired, but Blackadder's Christmas Carol is a favourite with many. The feature stars Rowan Atkinson as Ebenezer Blackadder and is narrated by Hugh Laurie.
The Knight Before Christmas
The Knight Before Christmas chronicles the story of Brooke (Vanessa Hudgens) who falls in love with Cole, a knight who has travelled from the 14th Century. Brooke hits him with her car (the start to all great love stories?) and helps him overcome his amnesia, eventually falling for him.
Klaus
Klaus is a heartwarming story about an unlikely friendship. Jesper, the Postal Office's worst student, befriends mysterious carpenter, Klaus before forging a new legacy of generous neighbours and stockings filled with toys.
Let It Snow
This Love Actually-esque rom-com stars Mad Men and Sabrina star Keirnan Shipka. The film follows three holiday romances between teenagers living in Illinois. Although not quite a replacement for Love Actually, this film does have that fuzzy-feeling-factor required of a classic.
