Coronation Street: Factory roof culprit will FINALLY be revealed… but it’s complicated

It's not going to be an easy solve

Bhavna Limbachia as Rana Habeeb

by Emma Dodds |
Updated on

Coronation Street fans were left in absolute shock when Rana Habeeb was killed on her wedding day in tragic scenes in March this year. Rana, who got trapped under rubble when the Underworld roof fell on her, passed away on her wedding day, no less, in the arms of her wife Kate Connor.

Actress Bhavna Limbachia announced that she would be leaving the show a couple months prior to her on-screen death, telling This Morning viewers that she wanted her character killed off since there was no other reason that Kate and Rana would split.

Since Rana's death, viewers have been led to believe that the roof collapse that caused Rana to die was no accident, with a handful of different characters having the finger pointed at them.

Robert Preston, Nick Tilsley and Carla Connor are the main three suspects, with all three having varying degrees of motives for the collapse of the factory - but it's Carla who has been suffering the most with the guilt.

Tentatively, Seb invites Alina to stay the night. He's thrilled when she agrees, but says there's some things she needs to sort out first and will be back at 10.30...

She's been suffering with her mental health, and viewers have seen her spiral downwards into moments of hysteria, and the factory boss has now convinced herself that it's a conspiracy - that Rana isn't really dead, and that Kate is hiding her away.

However, show bosses have now confirmed that viewers will discover who's truly responsible in the weeks to come - but it won't be a clean cut ending to the storyline.

A show source told Inside Soap, "Following weeks of speculation, we are finally going to learn which local has blood on their hands. Viewers will learn the truth, although the rest of the Street still has a little way to go before they clock on.

"It’s a story that is going to run and run, and the outcome is not going to be cut and dried."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
