Iain was a law student at Edinburgh Uni and is in the latest wave of floppy-haired comedians, writers, television presenters to make it big after being scouted during one of his stand-up routines.

Iain started doing stand-up during his last year at the university, and in August 2009 he performed in the final of the Chortle Student Comedian Of The Year at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, losing out to fellow comedian Joe Lycett who is best known for 8 Out of 10 Cats and his own show, Joe Lycett's Got Your Back.

He's narrated Love Island since its first series in 2015 and fast became a staple part of the show.

Since March 2017, Iain Stirling has been dating fellow TV presenter Laura Whitmore. The pair moved in together in December 2018, with Laura buying a house in North London. They regularly post adorable snaps of each other on social media.

Laura took over Love Island presenting duties for the first ever winter edition in 2020, working alongside her narrator other half.

It was reported that the couple secretly married in Dublin in November 2020, with Laura confirming the news a few months later. She revealed Iain had proposed to her a year before they got married but they had decided to keep details of their engagement and wedding under wraps.

She wrote on Instagram, "A year ago Iain asked me to marry him and we had the most magical, perfect ceremony. We loved having it to ourselves. We had been planning the perfect celebration and I will forever be so thankful that’s what we got. We have never spoken publicly about our engagement or wedding. Back at the time we never felt the need to say anything as it’s all such a personal experience. We also were too busy enjoying it!"

Do Iain Stirling and Laura Whitmore have a baby?

Iain and Laura became parents in April 2020 when she gave birth to their first child, a baby daughter.

Although neither Iain nor Laura announced the news at the time, their new arrival was confirmed when they were spotted out with their daughter while getting coffee.

“A few years ago at Glastonbury I bought the handmade ‘time to dance and play’ sign somewhere in the healing fields en route to Shangri La,” she captioned the photo. “I ended up wandering around by myself for a few hours, stumbling across different stages and tents. I look at this sign and remind myself of the importance of having fun.
