2002: Tony Blackburn

Tony Blackburn was the first ever winner of I'm A Celeb back in 2002. He had a dramatic fall from grace in 2016 when he was sacked after 49 years working for the BBC, for failing to co-operate with the Jimmy Savile inquiry. He has since returned to the BBC and also hosts a podcast with Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson called Ricky and Tony's Pop Detectives.

I'm A Celeb is set to return to its new location of Gwrych Castle in South Wales for the second time as travel restrictions prevented the show from taking part in Australia once again.

Earlier this year, Katie Rawcliffe, ITV head of entertainment commissioning, said, "We’ve always said we have contingencies in place for the series if the Covid situation continued to bring uncertainty and after a highly successful run at the castle last year we’re pleased that we can return there.

"I have no doubt the production team will produce another hugely entertaining series.”

EastEnders legend Adam Woodyatt (aka Ian Beale), The Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge and music producer Naughty Boy are among the celebrities rumoured to be taking part in the show this year, but who will follow in the footsteps of last year's winner Giovanna Fletcher and take home the title of King or Queen of the Castle?

According to reports, producers are chuffed to have landed soap icon Adam. A TV insider told The Sun, “Adam was a big target for the casting team — he is a soap legend and is certain to be a huge hit with fans. But they knew they might have their work cut out because he has been quite reticent to do interviews or reality TV shows in recent years.

“When you consider how long he has been a household name, he has only agreed to a handful of TV appearances outside of Albert Square. And he isn’t known for being a red carpet regular either.

“So it’s a huge coup to have reached this point, and everyone is very excited about having him on the show. He’s a brilliant addition.”
