When did I'm A Celebrity 2018 start?

After weeks of rumours, ITV finally confirmed the new series of I'm A Celebrity would be back on our TV screens on Sunday 18th November.

Who presented I'm A Celebrity 2018?

After much speculation, ITV finally confirmed that This Morning's Holly Willoughby would be joining Dec Donnelly to present I'm A Celebrity 2018, in Ant McPartlin's absence.

Speaking about her new role, Holly said, "I couldn’t be more excited to have been asked to stand alongside Dec for the next jungle adventure. I love Ant and want to send him my best wishes and support for a continued recovery.

"These are big shoes, not to fill, but just to keep warm for a little bit... Honestly, I’m a huge fan of I’m a Celebrity and actually feel like I’ve won a competition to go and hang out on my favourite show! When is it a good time to tell Dec I’m scared of everything that moves?!"

Dec added that he's 'super excited' to have Holly take part in the show's infamous Bushtucker Trials. He said, "I am hugely grateful to Holly for agreeing to accompany me to Australia this year,” he said. “She was at the top of my list and I’m thrilled she said yes. It will be a different kind of series but we will try our best to ensure it is no less fun and eventful for our loyal viewers.

"I am also pleased to hear Holly is scared of everything. I am almost stupidly excited at the thought of watching her during the eating trials!"

Why did Ant McPartlin not present I'm A Celebrity in 2018?

After presenting the show alongside his on-screen partner Dec Donnelly for 13 years, Ant McPartlin announced he would be taking an extended break from his TV duties until 2020, to allow him to fully recover from his addiction problems.

In March this year, Ant was arrested and later charged with drink driving, resulting in him checking himself back into rehab.

Ant later announced the news that he would NOT be appearing on this year's I'm A Celebrity in August this year. A statement released on his behalf read, 'Ant McPartlin today announces he will continue to take a break from all television presenting roles until 2019. Ant will not present I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in November this year.'
