British RuPaul’s Drag Race fans have been spoiled rotten this year as we’ve been treated to not one but TWO series of Drag Race UK in 2021 (it almost makes up for the whole global pandemic thing, right?).
The new series airs tonight on BBC and Ru’s very own right hand woman, Michelle Visage, is back in full force, giving the Queens a run for their money with her glamorous make-up, architecturally impossible hair and fabulous outfits.
So it’s not really a surprise that “Is Drag Race's Michelle Visage a guy?” is trending.
Michelle has been involved in the Drag scene for nearly as long as her best pal Ru and so it’s safe to say she knows her stuff – word on the street is she was even one of the driving forces behind bringing it to the UK, back in 2019.
But we’re here to tell you that no, Michelle Visage is not a man in drag and indeed a cis-gendered woman.
Speaking to The Mirror back in 2019, Michelle said, “For me it's the highest compliment.

“At the end of day a bio queen is a woman who was born a biological woman, and she performs in drag.
“So technically yeah I am that – but I just call myself a drag queen.”

EXCLUSIVE! Drag Race UK’s A’Whora teases series three will ‘make history’
It comes as the upcoming UK series makes history with the franchise’s first ever bio queen, Victoria Scone.
She said, “It feels right! I definitely didn't invent the art of drag for women. I am not the first and I certainly won't be the last. But I feel very capable and proud to have made it through the application process and be the first on Drag Race UK.
“Me being here is political but you can just have fun with it. That's why I started. I just wanted to entertain people and that's what we're going to do! Drag can just be fun!”
