Turns out that our loss has been Kim Cattrall’s gain.
After months of fans bemoaning the lack of Samantha Jones in the Sex And The City reboot, And Just Like That…, the actress has told friends she couldn’t be happier with her decision to quit the show.
In fact, as well as avoiding all that old drama with her co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, it’s also given her the happily ever after she’s spent a lifetime searching for.
“Kim’s happier than she’s ever been. A wedding is almost certainly in her future, and there’s zero doubt in her mind that she has ditching the show to thank for it,” says an insider close to the 65 year old, who celebrated six years with her partner, Russell Thomas, last week.
“Hollywood and that rotten environment on the SATC set messed with her head for so long. It’s well known she blames the show for destroying her last marriage, and Kim’s not going to let that happen again.
“She’s very much at peace with her decision, and shudders to think what would have happened if she’d signed up for the show instead of staying in Canada with Russ.
“They’re madly in love and happy with the laid-back lifestyle they enjoy there.”
The TV star – who has previously opened up about working 19-hour days on the 1998-2004 series – certainly looked happy last week, as she shared a clip of herself clinking Champagne glasses with the 50 year old.
It’s been a rocky road for Kim, who’s been married three times, but it looks like – as she says – Russ was “worth waiting for”.
