With the epic finale of Line of Duty’s sixth series set to hit our screens this Sunday (2 May), it looks like we’re FINALLY going to find out the identity of the elusive bent copper known only as H.

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for, tbh.

Speculation about H’s real identity has been rife, with everyone from AC-12 chief Ted Hastings (played by Adrian Dunbar) and Detective Chief Superintendent Patricia Carmichael (played by Anna Maxwell Martin) all in the frame.

Viewers have also come up with some pretty wild theories about how things will unfold and Martin Compston – who plays AC-12’s Steve Arnott – has admitted that some are pretty close to the mark.

In an upcoming appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Martin teased, “All these wild theories… some are pretty close!”

He appeared on the ITV chat show alongside Kate Fleming actress Vicky McClure who revealed the TV stars won’t even tell their nearest and dearest any of the show’s secrets.

Earlier this month, Adrian Dunbar revealed his character Ted Hastings is NOT H and we’ve never been more relieved tbh.

Speaking to Elizabeth Day on her podcast How To Fail, Adrian revealed his reaction the moment the hit BBC show’s creator, Jed Mercurio, told him Hastings was not H.

Adrian said, “It was a relief for me, as I spent all this time playing this character and I always thought Ted had a sense of duty and a moral core and to have found out I was this arch villain… I would have been in real difficulty accepting that.”

He continued, “Jed is aware of our audience and they know Ted has a sense of moral fortitude. I am glad he came out of it with flying colours.”
