It’s fair to say that, despite being absolute TV gold, the first series of Love is Blind UK wasn’t exactly the most successful when it comes to the contestants finding everlasting love, with only two out of the six couples still together to this day.
If you’d asked us at the start of the series, we’d have bet our bottom dollar on Sabrina Egerton and Steven Smith being one of the couples to go the distance and make it work outside of the experiment, so we were gooped and gagged when they revealed they’re no longer an item at the reunion.
Explaining exactly what wrong, Sabrina told hosts Emma and Matt Willis that she didn’t feel like Steven made enough effort in their long-distance relationship as he didn’t visit her in Belfast even though she visited him in London seven times.
Since then, Sabrina’s been speaking out about their short-lived romance and she recently made a jaw-dropping revelation about their wedding.
While discussing red flags in a partner in an interview alongside her co-stars Demi Brown, Maria Benkh and Catherine Richards, Sabrina let slip that Steven’s ex was in attendance at their wedding. Sorry, say WHAT?
“Steven brought his ex-girlfriend to our wedding,” she told IGV, much to the shock of, well, everyone.
“I didn’t get to speak to her,” Sabrina continued.
And when asked if Steven’s ex congratulated Sabrina on her nuptials, she added, “No, I introduced myself,” which prompted Cat to chime in, “Sabrina, you’re so brave because I couldn’t have done that.”
Steven has since responded to Sabrina, insisting that her claims are “factually incorrect”. According to him, the woman in question was a friend rather than an ex.
“It was someone who I went on a few dates with a couple of years ago that didn't materialise into anything other than a friendship,” he told Cosmopolitan.
"I consulted with Sabrina on the whole wedding list, as couples do before any invites were sent out, so I'm surprised she said this."
Eek, there’s no love lost between these two, is there?
