This year's Islanders are now in lockdown, ahead of the show's launch. It was reported the Islanders flew out to South Africa on New Year's Day but that information hasn't been confirmed.

The line-up includes some familiar faces to some, including Rochelle Humes' sister Sophie Piper, Lewis Capaldi's ex Paige Turley and Jess and Eve Gale, a set of identical twins, who say they've had a DM from Kylie Jenner's ex Tyga before.

The Islanders will be living in a stunning villa, which has reportedly been previously used in Black Mirror.

However, Love Island bosses have reportedly hired armed guards to protect the Islanders while in South Africa, over worries potential kidnap threats could be made.

It's said the guards will act as extra security and will patrol the villa to ensure all Islanders feel, and are, kept safe.

A source told the Daily Star{ =nofollow}, "Producers aren’t taking any chances. It’s been arranged for armed guards to patrol the compound throughout the series. If it's known to everyone in the area that a big TV show is in town, then it will become a target."

A Love Island spokesperson said, "The safety and security of our Islanders and crew are of the utmost importance."
