It's no exaggeration to say that Love Island is probably one of the biggest shows on the box, and when it was cancelled in 2020 because of the pandemic, there was certainly a TV shaped hole in our lives.
Luckily it made a triumphant return in 2021 for a frankly outstanding series of telly, and with 2022's series well and truly underway we are in our element.
But now it's back we just want MORE and are frustrated by the fact we're left to make alternative plans on a Saturday night when it's not on.
Ever wondered why that is? 2017 winner Kem Cetinay may have revealed the reason why.
Erm, what?! 😱
Kem said, "They give you one day off. You get one day off per week. What happens is, it gives them a day to clean the villa, and you take your mics off, and normally we go to the beach."
As Holly and Phillip appeared shocked, Kem added, "So what happens is, when you take your mic off, you are not allowed to talk about anything to do with the show, you have to talk about home life.
"You are being watched by the producers, because they don't want you to talk about what is going on. They are quite careful about what you talk about, because they want to keep it so everyone at home can see it.
WE ARE SHOOK! 😱
Of course, just like us, Love Island fans were left in shock at Kem's admission. One tweeted, "Kem's on #thismorning chatting about #loveisland and they get a day off on Saturday where they can take their mics off and all go to the beach etc and chill 😶😶how did i not know this 😲😲".
Another wrote, "Wha! The Love Island lot get a day off each week! Saturdays = mics off, head out the villa and all hit the beach together!!! #LoveIsland".
A third added, "I’m pretty sure Kem has just ruined love island #thismorning".

NOW WATCH: Kem Cetinay: ‘I had a bit of a breakdown’
However, after Kem's pretty explosive revelation, 2019 stars Amy Hart and Joanna Chimonides told Closer the complete opposite.
Speaking to Closer Online, the former air hostess said, "Saturday isn't a day off. We don't have days off, we have our microphones the whole time.
"Every day I was in there I was mic'd and filmed."
Joanna went on to joke, "We don't even get Sundays off. Weekends don't exist on Love Island."
No days off from lounging round a pool and having all your cleaning and cooking done for you? Gosh, we can't imagine how difficult that must be.
Amy even went on to say that the producers are constantly listening to their conversations.
"One day I complained about something and the next thing I got called to the lounge and there was a medic there.
"I wasn't even that ill, I said 'sorry I didn't mean to call someone'. You have to be careful what you say."
Is there Love Island on a Saturday?
Ever since Love Island as we know and love it returned to our screens way back in 2015, it hasn't aired on a Saturday, although this year things are a little bit different. This year we've been treated to Love Island: Unseen Bits every Saturday and while this isn't exactly the same as the normal shows, some fans actually seem to prefer it.
Fans took to Twitter to praise the show. One person talked about how Unseen Bits allows certain relationships to get more screentime, such as Indiyah and Ikenna's relationship. They wrote, "Indiyah and Ikenna actually have chemistry, love island just chose to show it on the unseen bits."
Another person claimed that it adds to the regular shows. They tweeted, "I’m actually excited for unseen bits this week cause there’s so much I feel like will be clarified by it."
While Unseen Bits is different to the regular shows, it seems many turn to it for more context on certain relationships and events from the week before. In this sense it does help to fill a Love Island shaped hole in our hearts every Saturday.
