OK, OK – despite yesterday’s claims by insiders that Love Island’s summer series wouldn’t be airing, new sources have insisting that bosses ARE planning on going ahead with the show.

“The team are still committed to the series airing this summer. The show will go on,” said the insider.

"Production on Love Island have been told the upcoming series is still scheduled to take place but the show will launch a month later in July.

Speaking to the Mailonline, they added, "All the usual preparations are going ahead."

These new reports are in complete contrast to yesterday’s claims from an ITV source who said, “A huge amount of work goes into Love Island and to pull everything together in a very short space of time would be near impossible.

“Casting aside, they need to think about all the paperwork necessary, the show’s insurance and all the tests that cast members must undergo.

“The team are also very conscious that if overseas travel restrictions are not lifted in time, filming in Mallorca as normal will be ruled out of the question.”

Many shows have reduced or completely cancelled filming, with the usual daily schedule on ITV altered to include a four hour Good Morning Britain and rerunning old episodes of Loose Women in order to minimise contact.

"At 9am Lorraine Kelly will join Piers Morgan in the GMB studio for the last hour and hand straight over to the This Morning studio with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby as usual running from 10am until 12.30pm,” a spokesperson said.

"We will then run some of our favourite repeat episodes of Loose Women from 12.30pm to 1.30pm to give viewers something to smile about each day at lunchtime."
