One of the biggest revelations to come out of the Love is Blind UK reunion is that Ollie Sutherland is now dating Pod Squad member Sharlotte Ritchie following his split from Demi Brown.
As viewers will know, Ollie and Demi didn’t get married as she chose not to tie the knot and focus on her own self-love journey (queen behaviour, tbh).
Ollie had already expressed an attraction to Sharlotte when they came face-to-face for the first time at a post-pods mixer, which was a bit of a red flag at the time considering that he was very much engaged to Demi – but, in a new interview, he’s claimed that producers left some important scenes out of the final edit.
While we only got to see Ollie speaking to Catherine Richards and Demi in the pods, he’s revealed he actually formed a “strong connection” with Sharlotte too.
He explained, “I think it makes a bit more sense with the hidden context that me and Sharlotte dated right up until pretty much the end and we had a strong connection. I had to break it off with her.
“She was very, very upset. In fact, she was so upset she left the experiment that moment, she didn’t even continue. So that's the context that people don't get.”
Ollie continued, “When I saw her, I’m like, ‘Oh, rah, that's Charlotte, that's the person I had a connection with’. Yeah, she was beautiful and my head was spun for a little bit. You know, my bad, that's not good on me and I can admit that.”
There were even more scenes between Ollie and Sharlotte that were left on the cutting room floor too as he added, “We actually had a conversation, which didn't get shown, so it wasn't like I just went, ‘Rah, she looks good, oh my days, she’s this’.
“I had a conversation with her and then afterwards, Aaron was like, ‘What’s going on?’ I’m like, ‘Don’t get me wrong, she’s stunning, but I’m good with Demi’. That’s what I was saying.”
Ahh, so it all makes sense now.
