Every good reality TV show usually has at least one contestant who’s portrayed as the ‘villain’ of the season and it’s definitely fair to say that Sam Klein received the villain edit on the first ever series of Love is Blind UK, which we’re all currently obsessed with.
Sam caused a lot of controversy with his questionable actions, including how he reacted to being rejected by Jasmine and the awkward moment he met Nicole Stevens for the first time and told her, “I think I love you,” after they got engaged. Not exactly what you want to hear from someone you’re about to marry, is it?
He was called out on his ‘red flags’ by his fellow contestants and viewers, with one taking to social media to write, “I can't believe Nicole still went ahead and picked Sam. The red flags were glaring.”
But, breaking his silence on the backlash he’s received, Sam said that the “editing” of the show was to blame in a candid Instagram post last week.
“The show was intense and high-pressure, and the editing hasn’t really worked in my favour,” Sam responded when one of his followers asked if his feelings for Nicole were “sincere”.
He also insisted that the relationship he formed with Nicole was the real deal, despite the fact she called things off, adding, “My connection with Nicole in the pods was genuine, and she’s an amazing person.”

An old YouTube video in which Sam opened up about his nose job resurfaced online shortly after he first appeared on Love is Blind UK. In the video, Sam shared his insecurities about his nose and admitted he felt "dread" over his "bad side" being photographed on his wedding day.
Speaking eight weeks after the surgery, he said, "The physical change is just one aspect, and then you come to the other side of it and it’s that mental change of just having something that you had a stigma about for your whole life – and now I know for the next 30 years, 60 years, I can just live without that one thing that just always put me off myself."
He revealed he felt like his old nose was "holding [him] back" and added, "I feel free. It’s an amazing feeling.”
