ICYMI, poor Prue Leith had a bit of a shocker last week when she revealed the winner of this year's Great British Break Off on Twitter about twelve hours too early.
She tweeted (then swiftly deleted): "No one told me judging a #gbbo final would be so emotional. I wanted them all to win. Bravo Sophie."
And, being 2017, the Twittersphere was absolutely relentless.
It took approximately 0.33333 seconds for the Mary Berry memes to come out.
Anyway, it's now been revealed it was actually the show's winner, Sophie Faldo, herself who informed GBBO bosses about Prue's gaffe.
"I spotted it on my news feed when it had been up for 42 seconds!" Sophie told OK! Magazine.
"It was actually me who rang Prue's assistant and I passed it onto Love Productions.
She then added: "It didn't make any difference to me, but I suspect there are a lot of viewers that were a bit disappointed it was spoilt.
"I know how absolutely devastated Prue was."
POOR PRUE.
Shortly after, Channel 4 issued a statement on the mishap, and they were very understanding.
“We can’t be angry with Prue because we love her so much,” said an insider, according to The Mirror.
“It’s hard to be cross for something that was just an awful mistake.
"No one’s going to feel worse about it than she does herself. She’s mortified."
