It literally feels like two minutes since we were sat in the sun with a blue WKD blasting some tropical house out of our tinny speakers, but somehow The X FactorThe X Factor semi-final is already upon us. This weekend The Cutkelvins, Grace Davies, Rak-Su, Lloyd Macey, Matt Linnen and Kevin Davy White will all fight it out for a place in the final; and we're struggling to concentrate on anything else tbh.
So, ahead of the live shows, we thought we'd catch up with Shereen, Jay and Kyle Cutkelvin (aka The Cutkelvins, duh) to find out what they've got in store. How are they gonna top last week's performance of Saved Me From Myself? Are we getting another original track? OOH, so many questions.
HELLO, Cutkelvin siblings. You were amazing last week. What can we expect from your semi-final performance?
Shereen: We've been in rehearsals non-stop because obviously it's getting hard now. Everyone here's so talented, so we've got to go out there and give it our all.
We're going to do an original song again because it gives us the chance to show who we are as artists.
**Kyle: **This week's performance will definitely be high energy again. We want to bring that party back to the stage and have a lot of fun out there.
Amazing. Now obviously we've got to know you quite well on the show, but can you each give us one fact NOBODY knows about you?
Jay: I put tomato sauce on every bit of my food. Literally everything. Cheese on toast, pasta, wraps; try it. It's good with cheesy pasta.
Shereen: When I was younger, I wanted to be called David. Very random, but I was growing up with a lot of boys.
Kyle: I used to be in the Scottish motocross championships back in the day. It was good fun.
And Shereen, what's this we hear about you being 'banned' from dating?
Shereen: I've not banned myself, but the boys have banned me. They're very protective and don't like to see me chatting to guys.
Jay: She's got a bad taste in men.
Shereen: No, I've got a good taste in men.
Jay: We've been telling her to focus on the show.
Jay - you're single and getting quite a lot of female attention. Is there any competition between yourself and a certain Myles from Rak-Su?
Jay: Well I am getting a lot of attention, so I've actually had to give him a few tricks of the trade.
Haha. Now the final's looming we're dying to know who your dream collab would be. Who do you want to join you on stage?
Shereen: There's a few ideas that we like. I like the soul guy called Smokey Robinson. That'd be a dream, but I think the boys have got another idea...
Kyle: I'd definitely love Wiz Khalifa and the rest of Taylor Gang. That'd be sick.
What about an old X Factor contestant. If you could bring anyone back to perform with, who would you choose?
Kyle: I'd say James Arthur. He's on the show this week.
**Shereen: **I'd bring back JLS. They were the only band I ever fangirled over.
