Dealing with coloured hair can be a daily battle. Thanks to the cocktail of harmful colouring chemicals we plough into our tresses, (all in the name of beauty, obvs) our dyed locks can be considerably more susceptible to damage.

Thankfully, my role as heat’s style writer has allowed me to test a whole array of beauty bits (some good, some not so good) allowing me to make some serious noise about the ones that actually work.

So today, I’m chatting about a surprising beauty product that can help your coloured hair to grow healthier and longer while maintaining vibrancy. And you best believe it’s only £3.99.

It’s no secret that those of us with dyed hair can often struggle to gain length. And the one thing I’ve noticed that really improves hair growth, is washing it less. This is because strands can become more elastic when they’re wet, causing them to snap and break. If you can get your hair washing down to three times a week, you’ll really notice the difference – I certainly did. But how to achieve this without having to succumb to the dreaded grease? Turns out it’s all about dry shampoo - but not as you know it.

Loved by A-List celebs such as Drew Barrymore, Batiste is the cult hero I’ve been using since my school days, but theirColour Protect Dry Shampoois a muti-award winning game changer that really ups the ante.

Not only has it extended the time needed between my washes, but it's also reduced colour fade thanks to its UV filter. This means I’m also going longer between colouring appointments too- an added bonus during these lockdown days.

The results? Longer, healthier, coloured locks. Better yet, this baby adds vibrancy to every hair hue, from the darkest of black to the lightest of blonde. Count me in.

How to Apply

Step 1: Spritz in light bursts around the hairline, over your roots, and anywhere else that looks a lil’ greasy

Step 2: Leave for a minute or two. This will give the product a chance to soak up any excess oils.

Step 3: Use your fingertips to massage the product into your scalp, removing any white residue and leaving behind fresh tresses

Bonuses? It’s invisible and lightweight, leaving your hair looking and feeling clean and fresh, with added body and texture. Good hair day, here we come.
