I'm going to tell it to you straight. If you haven't tried a face tanner, where have you been?
It's a magical product which delivers a lit-within, bronzed glow (definitely not orange!) with no streaks, patches and definitely no sun.
You don't need to have read Caroline Hiron's Skincare book to know that sunbathing = premature ageing.
But not all face tanners are created equally. Some have a weird smell, some aren't 'tan' enough and some make you wake up like Ross from Friends (true story!)
Finally, during my quest for a tanned complexion sans the sun damage, I hit the jackpot, hun.
The Cocoa Brown Miracle Mist Tanning Water is where it's at.
Costing just £7.19, you simply close your eyes and mist the product over your face before bed. The results? Starting the day looking bronzed and babein'.
It gives such a beautiful colour, there are absolutely no patches and even my boyfriend has one, too.
I tend to buff my skin with a tanning mitt after the initial misting, mainly for piece of mind.
It's available in shades 'medium' and 'dark' depending on your skin tone. I use 'dark' and it gives a stunning colour whilst still look natural.
Who needs a last minute vacay to the Maldives anyway, eh?

How to ensure a streak-free application:
- Exfoliate the day before: whether you opt for skincare acids or a physical scrub, ensure you remove any dead skin cells prior to tanning. This way you can ensure a streak-free finish.
- Moisturise: skin always looks better when it's hydrated. Make sure you're drinking enough water, too as dry skin can be a sign of dehydration.
- Choose wisely: if you are super pale and are looking for a natural finish, it's probably not wise to go straight for shade 'dark'. Try a light or medium instead.
