If you've been following beauty trends for a while now, then you'll know that the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder is the holy grail of foundation setting powders.

It's finely milled, translucent and won't turn cakey - seriously, this stuff is worth your dollar.

So, naturally, after using the powder for nigh on five years, we were absolutely gobsmacked when we saw on TikTok that we've been using it wrong the WHOLE time.

Yep, TikToker Eden Morrissey, who used to work at the brand, revealed that we're actually supposed to be using the included powder puff as a buffer, rather than using a make-up brush.

Shook, honestly.

Demonstrating the correct technique, she said, "It's called micro-dosing.

"You want to take the powder and pour some into the lid. You're going to take the puff and pick up the product onto your puff, and massage the product in [to the puff] until you can't see the product on the puff.

"Then you're going to take the puff and press and roll the product onto the skin. It literally makes you look flawless."

You're telling us - Eden, you look gorg, and we shall certainly be using this tip going forward.

Thank you. Sincerely, women everywhere.

If you've never tried the Laura Mercier setting powder then get on that, stat.
