Kitty Scott-Claus talks beauty routines, hot girl walks and her £4.99 secret for a flawless base

This week it's all about Kitty Scott-Claus - easily one of the UK's most iconic drag queens. Best known for being a finalist on RuPaul's Drag Race UK season 3, Kitty quickly became a fan favourite thanks to her hilarious one-liners, glam AF looks and mega-watt personality. She's since dazzled far beyond the Drag Race runway, appearing on Celebrity MasterChef, Pointless Celebrities and most recently RuPaul's Drag Race Global All Stars. We are so here for the world domination, babes.

On self-care

What does the ultimate self-care Sunday look like for the star?

"I like to strip my bed and wash my bed sheets every Sunday. Then I love to do a long run because I'm training for the marathon, so I'll do maybe an eight or nine-mile run. Then I'll come home for a swim to rest those muscles - it's very much a wellness day! Then I'll end the day by sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea, with a face mask on and just chill, chill, chill and order a takeaway."

On skincare

"I swear by Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Cream, £79. I feel like everyone is obsessed with it, but it really is my favourite. I'll use it every day - morning and night. I also love Medik8 Crystal Retinal 6, £69 in the evenings, I've noticed such a glow since using it. I also swear by Sculpted by Aimee's Duo Cleanser, £32 it's so beautiful and easy to use. It's a staple in my routine."

On make-up favourites

How long does a full face of glam usually take and what are Kitty's ride-or-die products in her beauty stash?

"Oh my god, it varies. It depends on how long I've got because I can make it work to whatever time scale I've been given. I normally like to give myself two hours, but, to be honest, it takes an hour and ten. I'm quick, I just slap it on!

"I love Sculpted by Aimee's Beauty Base Pearl, £23 for a no make-up look. It's just so dewy and gives you a little glow. Like there's something there but not too much. Also, I'll swear by the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in Fu$y heat, £17.60 forever. I just love a glossy lip. I also love the Fenty Beauty PRO FILT'R Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, £27.20 and the Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil, £25.60. I use so much Fenty, I love it.

"People always ask for my lip combo and I always wear the same one. It's the MAC Whirl Lip Liner, £17and then I use the Whirl Lipstick, £21 and then I go into it with Mac's Honey Love, £21 and then I get a light bit of concealer for the middle for the perfect rosey nude. Oh and obviously, some Fu$y lip gloss on top."

On budget beauty buys

"Oh my god, my eyelashes. I get them all from Superdrug and they're called The Eyelash Emporium Dramatic Studio Lash Strips in Out Out, £5.70. They last ages as well and they're so fab. I can spend so much money on getting big lashes and as soon as you put 'drag queen' on it, people put the price up. But these from Superdrug do the same job and they're a fraction of the price."

"I always swear by Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer, £4.99. I always use it when I'm doing my eyes, I cut my crease with the Revolution concealer because it's so thick and so full coverage. I swear by it for a flawless base."

On daily wellness habits

"I like to do a hot girl walk every day. If I'm not running, I'm hot girl walking wherever I am. I was in Milton Keynes the other day, so I went to walk around the bloody town centre. I was in Zurich the day after and I was walking around Zurich. I always plan time for a hot girl walk.

"I also love a green juice. I'm all about the Free Soul Greens all over TikTok at the moment, I love, love love. I add them to a Stanley cup, add a ginger shot and powdered collagen, so it's a proper little potion. I drink the whole thing and I feel so hydrated!"

On sleep routines

"I swear by the Drowsy Silk Sleep Mask, £69 and I'm also really into mouth tapes after seeing it on TikTok. I thought I was going to suffocate but it helps you fall into a much deeper sleep and apparently, it increases the muscularity in your face and helps get rid of your double chin and everything.

"I'm very much in the mindset that you go to bed looking ugly, but you wake up looking gorgeous. So I have my face mace on, my mouth taped, all the night cream, the retinol, the Starface spot stickers. I go to bed looking like a mess but you wake up a 10/10. It's all in the preparation!"

On podcast recommendations

"My go-to podcast is NewlyWeds with Sophie Habboo and Jamie Laing - their listener's messages are just so funny. I also still love My Dad Wrote a Porno and I love The Bald and The Beautiful with Trixie and Katya from Drag Race."

On wise advice

"Never be a Diet Coke version of yourself, always be full fat. Because you don't want to dull your sparkle and you don't want to go into something being a reserved version. Be unashamedly yourself."

Show you’re currently binging? I'm watching Gavin and Stacy as I'm getting ready for the Christmas special. I haven't watched it in years.

Go-to cuppa? A black Americano, just so chic.

Go-to loungewear brand? I wear so much Gymshark. I know it's for the gym but their stuff is so comfortable

Everyday perfume? More Sex by Charlotte Tilbury, £130.

Go-to takeaway order? I love Indian food, that's my favourite. I love poppadoms - you can't have a curry without poppadoms, it's not a complete meal otherwise!

Favourite candle? I love a pine candle at Christmas, or the Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede Candle, £56 is an all-time favourite.
