Meet the beauty looks that will be EVERYWHERE

Make-up trends 2020

We don't know about you, but lockdown has been the perfect time to switch up our make-up routine.

We've been flirting with red lippies, trying to perfect winged eyeliner and watching waaaay too many YouTube videos titled 'Get Ready With Me'.

It's the perfect time to experiment, organise and research all things beauty, even if our end result never quite looks like Jamie Genevieve's...

However, if you're looking for further inspiration for your next Zoom call, celebrity makeup artist Francesca Brazzo (whose clients include Dua Lipa and Charli XCX) has been working with Sleek MakeUP and has given us all the intel on the make-up trends to know about this year.

So grab a cuppa and let's get into it, shall we?

1) Blown out blush

"The blown out 70s blush is a big trend right now. I recently did something similar for Jessie Ware in her music video for Spotlight." says Francesca. "It’s a romantic blush, over accentuated whilst still retaining a softness. It’s best using soft pinks or reds and applying from the temple to the cheeks."

2) Floating eyeliner

"Another trend I love right now is the floating eyeliner look. It’s the ultimate cut crease and I love that it can look sleek and classic in black but playful and fun if you use coloured eyeliners or even lip pencils." enthuses Francesca.

"Sleek’s Super Precise Lip Liners are great for this trend as the precise application allows you to really cut out your crease and the long-lasting formula means you don’t have to worry about reapplying numerous times throughout the day."

3) The glossy lid

"A slightly more subtle trend for the summer too is the glossy lid. You can apply a lip balm or gloss for this, Sleek’s Pigment Transformer is great too."

"Applied alone or mixed with any colour for more of a pop. The highlighting Elixirs are a fav for me to use for this trend also as you get the high shine with a little more staying power than a gloss."

Thank us later, when you look babein' on video call.

Francesca also gives her top tips and products to look Zoom call ready in under 10 minutes...

She says, "Video calls aren't HD, so all those little imperfections on the skin won't be picked up. Blend a small amount of Sleek’s LifeProof concealer where needed.

"Accentuate your features in minutes by curling your lashes and using Sleek’s Utopia Volumising mascara. Apply a lipbalm to plump the lips with a swipe of your favourite Lip Dose Lipstick from Sleek – there are 12 versatile shades for you to play with. Keep it subtle for work or go bold when catching up with friends.

Why not use the lipstick on your cheeks for a subtle healthy blush too and top with a highlighting Elixir. A simple way to accentuate the eyes is by using a soft eye pencil to smudge around the eye for a super quick and effective smokey eye. You can play with different coloured pencils to mix it up."
