From a full fringe to a stylish half-up hairdo, Love Island All Stars host, Maya Jama is always on hand to provide the nation with some much-needed #hairspo. However, our favourite look of the season has to be Maya's Love Island finale look where she debuted an oversized ponytail and a sweeping fringe.
Honestly? The 29-year-old’s voluminous barnet was the true winner of Love Island All Stars (soz, Molly Smith and Tom Clare).
If like us, you’re wondering how on earth Maya managed to keep her hair looking perfect whilst presenting in the South African heat, then you’re in luck.
Hair stylist Ross Kwan has spilt the tea on how he turned up the volume with just a few bargain products. The standout? The got2b Volumania Volumising Hairspray, £5.44, which is one of our favourite sprays for creating a big blowout look.

How to recreate Maya Jama’s Love Island All Stars Final Hairstyle
Hair stylist Ross started off by keeping Maya’s tresses in tip-top condition thanks to the got2b Guardian Angel Heat Protection Spray, £5.50. ‘Starting off with freshly washed hair, spray in got2b Guardian Angel Heat Protection Spray throughout the hair focusing on the ends’ he explains.
Following with some frizz protection was also key, as let’s face it Maya was facing both the South African humidity along with a few awks moments amongst the All-Stars. ‘Apply anti-frizz got2b Smooth Operator, £6.99 throughout for a smoothing effect and blow dry on medium heat to close the cuticle.’
‘Once dry, snatch the hair back into a clean high-pony, or if you have an additional hair unit like Maya, snatch your hair into a high knot, creating a base ready for the hair unit to be attached for that extra glam.’
Next up comes the big part. No really, this is when Ross brings in the volume, ‘followed by applying got2b Volume Hairspray Volumania, £5.44 section by section, then curl and pin each section. For the fringe, set the hair with a roller for extra volume and extra bounce.’
Now we couldn’t be the only ones admiring how sleek the top of that ponytail looked, right? Turns out it is all down to eyebrow glue as Ross explains, ‘after the hair has been curled and the fringe is looking feathery, use the Got2b Glued For Brows & Edges 2 In 1 Gel, £4.49 to tame any flyaways and lay any edges down for a sleek finish.’
‘Once the hair is all cooled down, use a wide tooth comb to gently separate the curls and apply a light mist of the got2b Glued Blasting Freeze Hairspray, £4.50 A little goes a long way!’
