Is there such a thing as blush blindness? Not on my watch. Whether you love a dewy, liquid blush or prefer a powdered option, I may have just found the perfect hybrid - and it luckily doesn't break the bank. Let me introduce you to the viral blusher that I had to get my hands on as soon as it came out - the NYX Buttermelt Blush. It literally glides on like butter!

Available in 12 gorgeous, vibrant shades, the NYX Buttermelt Blushers are designed to blend seamlessly into the skin like a powder but glide on like a liquid blush - and it's fair to say they fulfil the brief. While I do love my high-end blushers, including Charlotte Tilbury Pinkgasm and Nars Orgasm, the main things I look for when shopping for a blush are how pigmented it is and how it wears throughout the day, as well as how easy it is to blend, especially as I'm short on time most days.

I was pleasantly surprised by the NYX Buttermelt Blushes. When purchasing, I was fearful that this TikTok viral blusher wouldn't live up to the hype and that its affordable price point would compromise its quality and longevity. Little did I know, I had nothing to fear about, as this blush is now my go-to everyday blusher.

Infused with mango butter, almond butter and shea butter (basically, all the dewy goodness), it doesn't get easier to apply than the NYX Buttermelt Blush. Offering up to 12 hours of wear that doesn't fade or transfer, these blushes will last you all day and all night, even in the club.

Even better, the NYX Buttermelt Blush is currently on sale for less than £7 in the Amazon Spring Sale, which is running from the 25-31 March this year. Offering exclusive discounts across tech, high-street beauty, haircare and more, best believe I'll be stocking up on other shades.

Perfect for that sun-kissed glow, the shade For The Butta has got us dreaming of summer. Its 12 other shades include: My Butta Half, Butta Together, Sooner The Butta, U Know Butta, Had Butta, Getting Butta, Feeling Butta, Back and Butta, Butta than Before, and All The Butta. Whether you love a coral toned blush, or a bright fuchsia shade, none of these blushes will disappoint.

How to apply the NYX Buttermelt Blush

Seeing as this drugstore blush is super pigmented, I suggest starting off lightly when applying it for the first time. According to the NYX pros, the trick is to lightly brush a contour-style makeup brush into the pan and swirl it onto the high points of your cheeks, around the temples, and even across the nose for that warm flush of colour. Whether you're on holiday or not, this blush will instantly have everyone asking if you've been away.

However, one top tip I have for applying this blush is to use a round blush brush, too. I personally found this easier to buff out and gave it a more natural, glowy finish. Team with a similar shade of lipstick, and you've officially mastered that gorgeous, polly-pocket, Sabrina Carpenter-style makeup look for the summer.

Final verdict

Overall, I would say the NYX Buttermelt Blush is a staple drugstore blush that everyone should have in their makeup bag. The perfect compact blush for holiday or on-the-go in your handbag, this blush will always give you that pretty pop of colour wherever you are, and its fuss-free application would definitely make me repurchase again.

While I would still say my Charlotte Tilbury Pinkgasm liquid blush is my ride-or-die, this blush comes in at a close second for me. Melting into my skin with just one sweep, this high street blush is without a doubt way better than other high-end blushers I've tried. At under £7 a pop, you simply can't go wrong.
