We love a bit of self-care and all this time at home has really given us an excuse to look after ourselves inside and out. Each week, we'll be asking the celeb lot to share their Sunday self-care routines, because taking care of yourself is more important than ever.

Verity Bowditch stars in the newest season ofMade In Chelseaand her latest relationship drams have meant we are unashamedly hooked on the hit E4 show. The 25-year-old also teaches pilates and educates her following on sustainability.

Verity opens up to heat about her fail-safe red lipstick, her new stance on trolling and her favourite candle for when she needs to unwind...

On dealing with negativity online:

Verity admits it's been a testing year for trolls, especially when her personal life has become a main storyline in Made In Chelsea.

"When I broke up with my ex boyfriend [co-star Tristan Phipps], that whole storyline was out in the open for all to see, to attack, to judge, to put their own spin on it. I’ve had so many trolls and it did get the better of me this year.

It’s not just what was happening on the show that was upsetting me, but all the trolls that were going on, too. Once you can overcome it once, it just hits you and goes over your head. So now, you just have to think, ‘what are these people doing?’"

Verity said how listening to a podcast episode where Jameela Jamil open up about how she used to be a troll as she was bullied in school, helped her understand the 'other side'.

"So, when you look at it from that point of view, it’s coming from people who probably don’t mean it. I feel sorry for them for acting in a certain way. Sometimes you need to look at it from the other side, instead of thinking ‘oh my gosh am I a bad person, oh my gosh am I ugly?’, you just have to take yourself out of it and realise these people are just watching a tv show."

On make-up during filming:

"I’m one of those people who can rarely go out without any concealer on my face." she tells heat. Her ride-or-die, you ask? The Hourglass foundation stick.

"I literally love it. That’s all I need unless I have a tan. It’s a concealer stick and you can just take it with you anywhere. I’m one of these girls who doesn’t really care that much about make-up. It’s just a stick you put in your pocket or hand bag and you can just whack it out when you need to."

Verity is also a huge fan of the Ambient Lighting Powder by Hourglass in shade Radiant Light.

"It’s so good. I use it under my cheekbones and on my forehead. It gives you a really nice shimmer and perfect if your skin is a bit oily or shiny, it shines you out in a different way. It's so good I swear by it.

I always have eyelash extensions on, that’s a definite must for me. And definitely red lipstick. I love that Charlotte Tilbury bright redor Pillowtalk is my go-to, either lip colours. Also Becca Highlighter, that is so good, I love it.

I do my own make-up [for the show], I know on TOWIE they all get their own make-up done by their own make-uo artist, but we’re not that boujee, believe it or not! Most of us just do it in the car on the way there and hope it looks okay!"

On watching herself on the tv:

Do the MIC cast have a huge viewing party on a Monday night or do they watch it at home, on the sofa, like the rest of us? Turns out, sometimes it's none of the above.

"Normally, pre the whole covid situation, we’d have a viewing party and we’d all support each other, because everyone does get a lot of shit on their first debut of the show. This year we haven’t been able to which has been quite sad.

On a Monday night I tend to not watch it, I tend to see a friend who isn’t on the show and be asleep before it starts, because I just know the comments will be coming in left right and centre.

Bless my mum, she always gives me an overview, like ‘not that bad this week!’"

On skincare:

Verity is a huge advocate for cruelty-free beauty products.

"Skincare is a big thing for me. Tropic Skincare are fully sustainable, carbon neutral, cruelty free and not tested on animals. I just love every one of their products. I’ve used them religiously

They have a really good cleanser that clears your pores and mattifies your face a little bit. I then whack on a serum that contains vegan hyaluronic acid.

I love those eye patches that de-puff your eyes. Not sure if they work but love the idea of it. If it’s the evening then somenight cream and if it’s the morning, moisturiser. I do that religiously everyday.

I do get HydraFacials once every two months. When I drink I get really red and I blush really easily. That’s one of the things I hate the most. When we’re filming and talking about a boy, I’ll start blushing or if they give me a red wine I have a rash over my face, it’s really annoying! The LED light therapy [as part of the HydraFacials] really helps with that."

"I was locking down in Dorset [during the first lockdown] and we had the news on all day and I was like, "Mum, this is really stressing me out, we’re going to have to stop!” Obviously get the news updates on your phone, you can't really escape it, but limiting your news intake is important."
