Anyone who knows me knows that I love a good statement coat. So, every time September rolls around and there is the slightest chill in the air, you already know that I’m searching through all of the shops to find the perfect coat that I’ll wear religiously throughout the season.
My recent rewatch of Daisy Jones and The Six served up some major coat envy thanks to the countless amazing boho Afghan coats seen on screen. So, with boho officially being a massive trend for autumn, I knew it was time to invest in one for my collection.
Afghan coats are a great addition to any autumn/winter wardrobe with their signature fur trim and detailing. Not so great? Their often-hefty price tag. Yes, we know that coats are investment pieces, but a nearly £400 investment? No thanks.
So, when I was scrolling through TikTok and saw this gorgeous (and affordable) option – consider me officially influenced. All hail Superdry's Faux Fur Lined Afghan Coat, £124.99.
It's available in two different lengths for ultimate wearability, and yes, I was also surprised that this coat is Superdry - but they really pulled through with this and we couldn’t be more obsessed!
It's not just me that's loving this coat the minute, as it is having a serious moment on TikTok, too. There are countless videos on how to style it this season, whether that's with a good pair of jeans or a skirt and some knee-high boots. But personally I think that this coat is one of those items in your wardrobe that does all the talking - the coat is literally the outfit.
For starters, this coat is actually cosy. Let’s face it, there’s nothing worse than finding a stunning new coat, to then later realise it offers zero warmth on those arctic winter mornings.
Secondly, the faux fur trim is high-quality. I’ve worn this coat almost every day for over a month and can safely say that the fur trim shows no signs of matting or falling out (something I’ve had from other affordable Afghans).
And arguably the best part about it? The fact that it’s just a fraction of the price compared to popular designer brand Charlotte Simone. Known for their gorgeous statement Afghans, Charlotte Simone coats are often upwards of £350 and seem to be sold out 24/7. So, this Superdry dupe priced at £124.99 is a great alternative.
I opted for the black version, but it also comes in other colourways including dark brown, brown and white (perfect for a Kate Hudson in Almost Famous look), and stone wash. If you fancy a slightly longer version, Superdry also makes longline versions of these coats for extra cosiness.

I'd recommend sizing up from your usual size so that there is enough room for you to wear chunky jumpers and winter clothing underneath.

If you want something a little longer, opt for this version.
