Whether you have tickets for Glastonbury or Wilderness, festival season is fast approaching and so is the perfect excuse to go wild on the sartorial front. Cowboy boots! Bubble skirts! A school disco's worth of glitter! We can't wait to sack off our usual uniform (oversized blazer and jeans, natch) for something a little more groovy.

Festivals are a magical place where emerging fashion trends come to shine, but with an abundance of choice it can be difficult to work out exactly what to wear when partaking in all the usual festival activities (read: desperately trying to locate the correct stage/your mates/the portaloos.)

Luckily, celebrity stylist Ellis Ranson is working with VO5 to share the seven festival trends that will be everywhere this summer to make packing for that festival a little more seamless. You're welcome.

1) Flower claw clips

"Playful hair accessories are huge this year," Elis tells heat. "I think we started seeing it come through in spring with all the butterfly clips and we're going to be going bigger and better for festival season.

"Now we're just putting flower clips anywhere. You could clip them to little braids, you could have them all over, or just a little one at the front. What's nice about those is if you don't necessarily want to go all out with your outfit and you want to wear a little black dress or denim shorts and a T-shirt, you can push it more and have a little bit more fun."

2) Fringing

"Fringing is definitely back and we're seeing it more in ombre. River Island has a really amazing ombre fringe dress, £89 and we're seeing a bit of that coming through. Could be fringing bags, shirts, jackets - fringing is a huge one for 2024."

3) Clip-in fringes

"Fringes when it comes to hair is also a big one, especially full fringes like Taylor Swift's and whispy fringes like Sabrina Carpenter's. We're going to see a lot of people going for the fringe and it's very effortless chic.

"Olivia Attwood tried a clip in fringe and then had one cut in and I think that's a really good tip, go to somewhere like Beauty Works and try it before you cut!"

4) Boho disc belts

"Boho feels like an obvious one, but there's been a big rise again and definitely feels more millennial, especially with the return seen at Primark and Sienna Miller's collection for M&S. It's perfect for that undone effortless. Those big disc belts are everywhere and you can just add a big belt to your outfit, even if it doesn't go, so it's all mixed and matched."

5) Jorts

"We're also seeing the 'jort' which is a longer jean short, instead of the hot pant. We're seeing the knickers or we're seeing the jorts, we're not doing the mini shorts this year."

6) Embellished cowboy boots

"With the Eras tour, we are seeing a lot of sparkles coming through. I know it sounds expected but it's a bit different as last year was very light and undone. If you look at Coachella it was effortless - loose waves, denim shorts, crochet - all of a sudden, we've added some sparkle back in.

"Now western boots are being bedazzled. They've got something going on, they're not just a plain Western boot anymore. The more fun the better!"

7) Loose waves

"Loose waves are perfect for festivals and you can even plait your hair before bed to achieve this look.

"All my friends are using the dressing gown trick. You basically leave your hair until it's nearly dry, wrap your hair around a dressing gown belt or with a heatless curl kit, and then add some Vo5 spray and in the morning you've got loose waves. That's an easy one and it doesn't matter how messy they are - just add some glitter and you're good to go!"
