If looking at great dresses is your idea of a good time, then welcome.
The Academy Awards is the most important, star-studded red carpet of any year, which makes it the most exciting in terms of fashion.
While it's preceded by an array of awards shows including the Golden Globes and the BAFTAs, the A-list tends to save The Big Guns for Oscar night. This is great news for fans of what we –and J.Lo – like to call Big Dress Energy.
Historically, The Oscars has provided some excellent and very memorable fashion moments, from Jennifer Lawrence tripping up the stairs in her Dior gown to Audrey Hepburn winning the Best Actress award in Givenchy.
This year, the celebs include the likes of Renée Zellweger, Margot Robbie, Regina King and Scarlett Johansson. So, feast your eyes on the most amazing gowns gracing the red carpet AND we've found high street dupes so you can copy their look and save yourself some coins...

Evil Stepmother: Idina Menzel
Musical theatre legend Idina Menzel is lending her acting chops to the film, taking on the iconic role of the Evil Stepmother. Confirmed in October 2019, Idina will channel her inner Lady Tremaine as she was known in Disney's original animated classic from 1950 - but who knows if there will be any similarities? Idina is best known for originating the role of Elphaba the Witch in Wicked the Musical on Broadway, but is now also well-known for her voice role as Elsa in Disney's Frozen and its sequel, as well as her role in Glee. Idina also played the role of Nancy Tremaine in Enchanted, who was named after Cinderella's stepmother.

Everything you need to make Galentine's extra special this year
After winning the Best Actress award for her role as Judy Garland, Renee Zellweger dedicated her Academy Award to the late actress.
"Judy Garland, you are certainly among the heroes who unite and define us and this is certainly for you," she began.
"Judy Garland did not receive this honor in her time... I am certain that this moment is an extension of the celebration of her legacy that began on our film set.
"And it is also representative of the fact that her legacy of unique exceptionalism and inclusivity and generosity in spirit, it transcends any one artistic achievement."
