It's been a tough few months for pretty much all of us.

Whether it's down to sick loved-ones, lost jobs or cancelled holidays, we could have never predicted how bloody terrible 2020 is turning out.

The suffering is not just felt in the UK. Over a million factory workers in Bangladesh are now out of work due to the change in demand of high street retailers.

This is due to more than $2billion worth of orders and 982 million pieces of clothing being CANCELLED due to COVID-19 pandemic.

So, to help support garment workers, retail app Mallzee and SAJIDA Foundation have introduced a clever initiative called Lost Stock.

The concept was developed to help workers in underdeveloped countries who are facing job losses and starvation as UK retailers cancel stock orders.

Shoppers can buy a £35 box of clothes worth £70 from favourite retailers such as Topshop and Gap.

You’ll receive a guaranteed three items. In most cases all products will be tops and t-shirts as bottoms can be harder to get the fit right. The products will all be of the kind of quality you'd expect from a high street retailer.

Simply select your size, age and colour preference and you'll receive a box of clothing worth £75. It's a win for everyone.

Cally Russell, Mallzee CEO, said; "With no safety net available for some of the poorest workers in the fashion supply chain we couldn't sit back and do nothing – leaving families to starve and new clothing heading to landfill.

"COVID-19 is a health and economic crisis in the UK but it's going to be a humanitarian crisis in countries like Bangladesh unless support is provided. With the Lost Stock approach consumers get a great deal and are also helping at the same time.”

Another way to help during COVID-19 is to buy a NHS charity tee, which raises money for our National Health Service.
