A new Pret A Manger launch? Urm, need we hear more?
The popular cafe chain has decided to ditch its usual pork meatball wrap in favour of a brand spanking new vegan version just in time for Veganuary.
Pret have teamed up with game-changing plant-based food brand Meatless Farm to create the Swedish Meatball Hot Wrap for the whole of January.
The wrap is £4.25 and is part of a whole new vegan range at Pret, including a Chef’s Special Sunshine ‘N Spice Wrap, Vegan Breakfast Baguette and freshly baked Dark Chocolate & Almond Butter Cookie.
Now, for our official verdict on the wrap:
The meatballs are...dare we say it... flavourful??
Meatless meat can quite often come with an unpleasant after taste, weird texture or simply no taste at all so we were very pleasantly surprised to discover that these meatballs were delish.
There's also a rather tasty red pepper tapenade and sweet and smokey chipotle ketchup that provide some much needed moistness to the whole affair.
The wrap is finished off with red onions, red pepper and some crispy onions for extra texture and crunch.
We can happily say we'd eat, many, many of these.
