Secrets of Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz’s billion-dollar wedding revealed

They’ve been engaged for nearly two years (a lifetime in celeb world), and now Brooklyn Beckham has finally set the date for when he marries his fiancée Nicola Peltz.

David and Victoria’s eldest son will say “I do” to the 27-year-old actress on 9 April at the £72million Florida estate of Nicola’s billionaire parents, Nelson and Claudia. There will be no expense spared at the star-studded event, which will be covered in Vogue, with the couple determined to have the wedding of their dreams.

“Understandably, Nicola and Brooklyn want the entire day to be perfect and their attention to detail is quite astonishing,” an insider said.

“Money is obviously no object, but nonetheless they want the day to be a celebration of love, not wealth. Vogue’s entertainment director Sergio Kletnoy has heavily wooed the pair and it looks like they will get the exclusive rights to the wedding. Vogue covered Idris Elba’s wedding and it was beautifully shot. Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding will be something like that – very tasteful.”

The lucky celebs to have made the guest list reportedly include Nicole Richie, Gigi Hadid and Gordon and Tana Ramsay. But it will also be a real family affair, with Brooklyn’s brothers Romeo, 19, and Cruz, 16, acting as best man, and ten-year-old sister Harper as flower girl, while Nicola will break with tradition and have her ice-hockey player brother Brad as her chief bridesmaid.

Former footballer David, 46, will be Master of Ceremonies, and although Victoria, 47, heads up her own fashion label, Nicola has opted for a Valentino dress.

“Nicola flew to Rome with her stylist for wedding dress fittings and has plumped for two fairy-tale Valentino numbers,” the insider added. “Victoria designed Nicola’s engagement dress, and is fully supportive of the move. A VB number is likely to pop up in the evening do. Nicola’s chosen her brother Brad to act as chief bridesmaid, as she’s not a massive stickler for tradition. The happy couple will do their wedding their way. David and Victoria couldn’t be happier about the lavish event. And obviously Victoria will be going all-out to look stunning, as the mother of the groom.”

Although Brooklyn, 22, briefly studied photography at college and had aspirations to do it as a career, he’s not taking any chances with his wedding photos, and it’s thought Vogue legend Annie Leibovitz will be tasked with the job. And, although we’re sure YouTube chef Brooklyn will be taking a big interest in the food, they have opted for some of America’s finest caterers to keep their guests fed and watered.

Two private security firms – one dedicated to each family – will be employed to keep any intruders or over-keen fans away, while those invited will be asked not to take pictures, and all social media will be banned.

The wedding plans leaked out not long after Brooklyn found himself under fire for promoting vegan trainers just days after appearing in a cooking video about steak and confessing to eating it three times a week. Posing topless on a sofa, with his new vegan Superdry trainers on show, Brooklyn wrote on Instagram, “@superdry vegan footwear. Coming soon. 24.01.22. Lower your fashion footprint #superdry #veganfootwear #sustainablefashion”.

This was met with an avalanche of criticism, with him being called a hypocrite and a sellout, and not really believing in what he’s advertising. One wrote, “Eats steak three times a week, wears vegan shoes for cash,” while another commented, “You literally cook steak all the time, make it make sense.”

While Brooklyn hasn’t commented on the controversy, we’re told mum Victoria is making sure she handles any fallout, so that brands will still want to work with him and he can keep getting big contracts.

“Brooklyn often struggles to get it right and the vegan-trainer situation is just the latest example,” our source says. “It’s made him look a bit foolish, with people saying he’ll do anything for money. He is still trying to figure out how to be famous, and is sometimes naïve in how he approaches things. Luckily, Victoria is on hand to clean up the mess – it seems like it’s evolving into a full-time job for her. She’s is an expert at this stuff.

"She was quick to throw the numbers out there to show, based on the Instagram analytics, exactly how many people had jumped to check the shoes out as a result of the controversy. Not just his 13million followers, but double that amount due to all the publicity, so they will probably sell out. She knows how to spin everything – which is lucky for Brooklyn.”

But, the source adds, both VB and David hope that marrying ambitious Nicola will help Brooklyn – who has previously dated model Hana Cross and actress Chloë Moretz – mature and that the wedding will be the making of him.

“They love Nicola and think she’s perfect for Brooklyn – the Beckhams are quite hard to impress and she got the seal of approval straight away,” we’re told. “She’s beautiful, kind, successful and family orientated – and she’s definitely not with Brooklyn for his money, as her family are extremely wealthy already. She’s also hugely ambitious and has big plans for her and Brooklyn. David and Victoria feel Brooklyn will really up his game once he becomes a husband.”

The source continues, “Brooklyn and Nicola are also keen to start a family, and Brooklyn will definitely be dedicated to providing for them, meaning he’ll have to take some of his work commitments more seriously. But, for now, the whole family are focusing on the wedding and making sure it’s a weekend to remember.”

The insider adds, “It’s the hottest ticket in town and everyone is keen for Brooklyn and Nicola to have a perfect day.”
