Chris Hughes love life Jesy Nelson split

It seems that even our fave celebs experience the same dating dilemmas as us mere mortals, after former Love Island star Chris Hughes admitted that he’s finding it “hard” to date during lockdown.

After splitting from singer Jesy Nelson at the start of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020, Chris has revealed that he has been single for nearly a year now.

“I’m very single at the moment, I’m not talking to anybody. I would love to say I was dating and very happy in love but I’m happy, I’m just not in love," he told Metro.co.uk.

Chris continued, “I haven’t got anything really exciting to report. It’s very hard at the moment, it’s hard to actually go and date.

"I like to go and meet people in person, I think you can gauge a very different personality in person than when you do over the internet or by phone or text. But hopefully one day we can go freely and safely meet people and date them.”

We’re sure there’ll be a line of ladies waiting for you, Chris.

Chris’ love life and high-profile relationships with Jesy and Olivia Attwood have been well-covered by the press, but this wouldn't deter Chris from dating someone else in the spotlight again.

He revealed, “I think an individual in the spotlight to me in no different to an individual out of the spotlight. I think we’re all human beings and that to me doesn’t really affect anything.

“We’ll just have to wait and see. I don’t rush or try and enforce anything so whatever happens, happens naturally I can meet someone in the street or doing television work. That’s the beauty of life, it throws you different things at different times.”

Chris recently admitted that he's still good friends with ex Jesy and that they still speak from time to time.

He said, “We’re still good friends. We have no reason to dislike each other, we just went our own ways and that’s life isn’t it?”

Chris continued, “Everyone deals with breakups differently but even with Jesy we’re still really good friends. We still support each other. It’s actually really nice to come out of a relationship and to still get on. She’s amazing, and I get on so well with her still. It’s so nice that we can still communicate and be in touch and have that… it doesn’t have to be a stereotypical breakup.”

We're glad to hear it, hun.
