They’ve been at loggerheads ever since Coleen Rooney accused “Rebekah Vardy’s account” of leaking stories about her two-and-a-half years ago. But could the battle of the WAGs be about to come to an end?
Rebekah – wife of Leicester striker Jamie Vardy – denies the claims and is currently suing Coleen for libel.
Lawyers’ fees on both sides are already running into the hundreds of thousands, with a trial set to take place in May.
Both women are adamant they are right, but we’re told Coleen is thinking of ways that she can settle without losing face, as the dispute now seems relatively unimportant compared with what’s going on in the world at the moment.
“Coleen is the one being sued by Becky, and she’s just defending herself, but she knows how this appears to some people, especially at the moment,” a source tells heat.
“She didn’t want it to go this far, but now it looks like she’s spending all this money on a falling out, while people are facing a humanitarian crisis.
"The case is due to go to court in weeks, but she feels the public are starting to turn, and on top of all the fees, she knows it’s not the greatest look.”

Mum-of-five Becky has previously said she would like to get the dispute sorted and it has been reported that she will donate any damages to charity if she wins.
And although Coleen, who has four sons with husband Wayne, is adamant she’s right, she is finding the ongoing battle exhausting.
“Coleen has been getting so many messages from both fans and haters, all echoing the same sentiment – and it’s affecting her,” we’re told.
“She’s torn, but at the same time, she is struggling to figure out how to resolve this with Becky.
"She needs to work out what her limits are. It’s been two years of legal arguments, digging in, not giving up, and always pushing for what she believes is a battle to defend her private life and to expose a wrong doing. She has expended so much emotional energy on this, so it’s not as simple as just agreeing to Becky’s demands.”
The insider adds, “She’s trying to find a way that they can settle this where they can both save face.”
