David and Victoria Beckham did not let their 23rd wedding anniversary pass without a modern-day marker of celebration: a gushy Instagram post.

Becks, 47, delighted his followers by sharing an interview from 2001, where Ali G quizzed him and his fashion designer wife, 48, on their relationship for a Comic Relief segment.

Ali G – a fictional character created by English comedian Sacha Baron Cohen – asked,“Now, where did you two meet?”

After Posh answered, “At the football,” Ali G proceeded to ask, “Beckham, were you into The Spice Girls beforehand?”

The football ace responded, “Erm no, but I was into Posh!”

David paid tribute to his wife in the video’s caption, “No but I was into Posh.. 23 years ago today Posh became Mrs Beckham, but she will always be Posh. Happy Anniversary WOW 23 years & 4 beautiful kiddies. I love you, we all love you @victoriabeckham @brooklynpeltzbeckham @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven”.

Meanwhile, Spice Girl Victoria shared a beaming photo of her and David with a tongue-in-cheek message, “They say he isn’t funny, they say I never smile, they said it wouldn’t last. Today we celebrate 23 years being married. David you are my everything, I love you so much!!!!”

The couple were inundated with messages on their special day, with their middle sons Romeo, 19, and 17-year-old Cruz also writing sweet messages.

Mum-of-four Vic recently revealed that her youngest child and only daughter Harper, who turns eleven this weekend, found her Spice Girls skirts “unacceptable”.

Speaking to Vogue Australia while gracing the cover, she recalled, “[Harper] actually said to me recently, ‘Mummy, I’ve seen some pictures of you when you were in the Spice Girls and your skirts were just unacceptable. They were just too short.’”

Siding with his daughter, David piped up, “Absolutely, Harper! They really, really were.”
