Victoria Beckham joked about divorce with David after split rumours stormed social media

It’s been revealed that David and Victoria Beckham joked about divorce and laughed off rumours about their relationship after speculation about a split dominated Twitter on Friday.

David was in America when the rumours surfaced and is thought to have received a phone call from Victoria who jokingly asked: “Are you divorcing me?”

"Victoria was taken aback, but she found the whole thing very funny. They have had a sense of humour about this because it’s so ridiculous,” a friend of the couple told the Mail on Sunday.

"They are stunned that so many people have believed it, and also stunned that it so quickly got around. They spoke about it and laughed a lot. They have absolutely no idea where or how it started. It’s quite the mystery."

Twitter was sent into meltdown on Friday when bookies suspended betting on the couple splitting but a spokesperson slammed the rumours as ‘a crock of sh*t’.

They added: "There is no statement due, no divorce, and a lot of Chinese whispers and fake social media news."

“This is all very bizarre and an embarrassing waste of time.”

Shortly after, Victoria appeared to rubbish the rumours even more, taking to Instagram to share an adorable family photo.

The snap showed Victoria looking happy and relaxed alongside her three youngest children, Romeo, Cruz and Harper, as well as her parents Jackie and Tony Adams.

It was captioned: “Fun dinner x kisses from us all x.”

Victoria and David have been married since 1999 and share four children – Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 15, Cruz, 13, and Harper, 6.
