It feels like forever ago that Amy Christopher, Tadam (Tayah and Adam, natch) et al were on our screens during Married at First Sight UK.

And for those of us who weren't quite ready to say goodbye to the series, season eight of Married at First Sight Australia landed on All 4 the following week, and we've found it every bit as compelling as the UK series - just with added sunshine and even more problematic long distances.

Look! More news!

One of the standout stars (for all the wrong reasons) of the show has been divorced dad of three and general flyboi James Susler, who was matched with now former barber Joanne Todd (she's reportedly since been sacked from her place of work for 12 years for refusing the vaccine).

But all the flash cars and designer garms couldn't make his marriage to Jo work out. Here's everything we know about his relationship history.

First Wife

Not much is known about James' love life prior to his time on the show, but during his initial VT were found out that he'd been married before and was a father of three. "We're best friends, we really are. But we just grew apart over the years. Three kids makes a lot of strain in a relationship, and we've got twins as well," he said."It was hard, but it doesn't mean I don't love her. She loves me, I love her. We're just not in love anymore."

Jo Todd

Todd's relationship with his Married At First Sight Australia wife, Joanne Todd, wasn't exactly the stuff of fairytales. On their wedding day they both lacked in mutual attraction, it wasn't long before their relationship broke down and in the scenes aired in the UK, he ended up dramatically storming out of the flat they shared together. It's old news that Jo and James aren't actually together anymore (with the series filmed in Aus nearly a year ago) and as early as last Christmas Jo was posting loved up selfies with another feller, called Joe Donaghy.

Alessandra Rampolla

Also during his time on the show, James raised eyebrows when he declared he was "in love" with the MAFS new sex therapist Alessanda Rampolla. However, it all backfired when Alessandra called the move "extremely disrespectful", claiming she "didn't get the joke".

Verity East

Following the explosive end of his marriage to Jo at the final dinner party (where she finally called him out for his gaslighting), James seems loved up with new girlfriend, actor Verity East. The couple keep fans updated on their romance on Instagram and, like James, Verity is a parent herself.

Cast your minds back to the most recent series of the UK show and it's likely that spiritual Amy Christopher and her stoic toyboy husband Josh Christie will stand out as some of the most memorable newylweds.

Despite ending the series deciding to give their marriage a proper go at the final commitment ceremony, the pair turned up to the reunion episode separately with Amy visibly upset by the turn of events.

Speaking exclusively to Closer earlier this month, Amy said, "We worked so hard on the show and at times, it felt like us against the world. But on the outside, we couldn’t make it work. I really tried to find a solution to every hurdle we faced, but the distance was quite hard – with him living in London and me living in Cornwall.

"I don’t want to insult Josh – he’s a good guy – but I tried to ask him a real reason for our break-up and he just couldn’t give one. I felt like he wasn’t making an effort."

She added, "I said before I went into the experiment, ‘I’m either going to meet the love of my life or I’m going to learn a massive lesson and meet the love of my life afterwards.’ But I don’t have any faith in love at the moment! I’m in self-preservation mode and healing. I’m just worried any men might be put off, and think I’m a miserable cow after watching me. I’m really not – I’m a really loving girlfriend and person!"
