Zara McDermott and Louis Tomlinson’s romance has gone from strength to strength ever since they started dating in March, and last week it was reported she’s now moved into his home in north London. But while their relationship milestone has raised a few eyebrows, with some fans suggesting it’s too soon, a source tells heat Zara is happier than ever – and a proposal could even be on the cards.
‘Zara and Louis’ relationship really stepped up over the summer. He wanted her to move in because he was keen to underline his commitment, and to show how serious he is both about her and about their relationship,’ we’re told. ‘A lot of people thought she was jumping into things too soon after the split from Sam, but Zara has blocked out the noise. From the moment they met, they knew it was going to develop into something serious. They’re very happy and everyone is expecting them to get engaged.’

One Direction singer Louis, 33, and former Love Island star Zara, 28, ‘hard-launched’ their relationship in August, sharing a loved-up snap of them kissing on social media. But the couple were first spotted together in March, just months after the TV presenter split from her boyfriend of five years, Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson, who she lived with in west London.
Zara is believed to have met Louis through his sisters, Lottie, 26, and twins Phoebe and Daisy, 21 – and in June, she joined the singer and Lottie at Glastonbury. Our source adds, ‘Zara and Louis are happiest when they are just on the sofa watching a movie and being like any normal couple, so having a home together really completes them. Their respective families have welcomed the relationship with open arms. Zara gets on particularly well with Louis’ sisters as they have loads in common and have become really close pals. They’re planning a couple of girly days away soon and Louis loves to see how close they’ve become, because his sisters are really important to him.’

With Louis – who is dad to nine-year-old son Freddie with his ex, American fashion stylist Briana Jungwirth – having to split his time between the UK and the US, pals say he wanted Zara to feel like she had somewhere she could call home when he wasn’t around. Our insider adds, ‘It’s special because it means she can feel close to Louis even when he’s not there.
‘Zara also wants to make her own mark in America, so loves spending time there, too. The UK will always be her home, but she adores the way of life over there – and she definitely sees her future with Louis.’
