Nothing stings quite like seeing your ex loved-up with their someone else, so spare a thought for Louise Redknapp. The singer has already been vocal about the difficulties she’s faced in moving on since her marriage to Jamie Redknapp ended in 2017, saying in October, “I don’t know if someone ever gets over getting divorced after 20 years.”
And last week, after Jamie was pictured walking arm-in-arm with girlfriend Frida Andersson-Louri, Louise is said to have felt really down – and her mind has been running wild about what’s going to happen next. Apparently, she’s wracked with worry that she’s being “replaced” – and with her fears escalating that Jamie will get remarried sooner rather than later, she’s questioning why she ended things all over again.
“Jamie has been hinting that he’s found his second chance at happiness with Frida, and Lou is heartbroken,” says an insider close to the star, who said last year that her and the former footballer’s sons Charley, 16, and Beau, 12, “always hope their mum and dad will work things out”.
The source continues, “She thought it was just a fling. But now they’ve been together for six months, she’s realising Frida is here to stay, and she’s worried she’s being replaced. It doesn’t help that Frida is so perfect – a beautiful, young, Swedish model. Lou’s friends are advising her not to let her thoughts spiral out of control and to focus on moving on, but it’s really made her feel sad. She sometimes panics that Jamie and Frida will get married quickly during lockdown. There’s no denying she has her regrets over ending her marriage. She misses their family unit and tortures herself about whether or not she did the right thing.”

According to our source, Louise “doesn’t know where to start” when it comes to meeting a potential partner. “Her friends have suggested joining [celeb dating app] Raya, but Lou says she finds putting herself out there humiliating. Plus, she’s been put off by the amount of creeps sliding into her DMs. She doesn’t want to come across as bitter, and she eventually wants to get to a place where she can feel happy for Jamie, but this all just feels way too soon.”
The source adds, “When they first split, she was adamant she’d done the right thing, but she now wonders whether it was all just a huge mistake.”
