Mary Bedford has announced that her grandma sadly passed away while she was in the Love Island villa.
Returning to Instagram for the first time she was dumped from the show with Aaron Simpson, Mary shared a sweet snap of her and her grandma and told fans she had been “taking time to mourn”.
The reality star, model and influencer also revealed how she’d rushed home from Mallorca so she could be at her gran’s funeral.
Alongside the photo, she wrote, “Our angel on earth is now our angel in heaven 🕊🤍.
“Coming off the show has been bitter sweet for me as I flew home to go to the funeral of my beautiful grandma who passed away whilst I was in the villa. I’ve been taking the time since the show to mourn, reflect, and be back with my loved ones before returning to my social media.”
Mary added, “I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the support I have received at this difficult time, I truly appreciate everything 🤍.”

Mary’s fellow Islanders sent their condolences in the comments section, with fellow Casa Amor bombshell Amy Day writing, “Sending so much love beautiful girl ❤️❤️.”
Faye Winter said, “🤍 love you,” while her boyfriend Teddy Soares commented, “Sending love ❤️.”
Brett Staniland added, “♥️♥️♥️ sending you and the family lots of love.”

Mary’s sad news comes after she appeared to friend zone Aaron during an appearance on Aftersun just days after they were dumped from the villa.
When asked by Laura Whitmore what the future held for their relationship Mary said, “I think we’re just gonna go home, when we’re back in the real world again and things are more normal. We’re going to see how it goes, but I’ve definitely made a best friend in here.”
The feeling didn’t seem to be mutual however, with Aaron seemingly keen to pursue something with Mary who said, “I knew my head was firmly on Mary and it was a whirlwind experience.”
