Love Island star Mike Boateng is set to face a misconduct hearing next week following allegations of improper behaviour during his time as a police officer.

Mike served as an officer for Greater Manchester Police for three years before quitting last year to take part in the ITV2 dating show, with the allegations believed to have been made in 2018 and 2019.

GMP confirmed the hearing in a statement, although they did not specify the nature of the allegations.

A spokesperson said, “A Special Case Gross Misconduct Hearing will be held at Merseyside Police in relation to a GMP officer at 10am on Thursday 16 April 2020 and is scheduled to last for one hour. The hearing will be held via video and audio link.

“PC 'A' 16032 Michael Boateng will answer allegations that their conduct amounts to a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour for Honesty and Integrity; and Discreditable Conduct contrary to the Police (Conduct) regulations 2012.”
