After a two year hiatus The Apprentice is finally returning to our TV this evening, and we can't wait. Honestly, how have we lived with this shows absence for so long?
With a new series comes a set of new contestants. Whilst it is typical for these contestants to have a background in business, it is less typical for them to have one in reality TV, as is the case with contestant Navid Sole, who appeared on BBC's Eating With My Ex back in 2020 during the second series of the show.
The 27-year-old pharmacist is one of the 16 contestants hoping to take home Lord Alan Sugar’s £250,000 investment. As he enters the show, however, he does bring a bit of reality TV baggage with him.
His appearance on Eating With My Ex was... awkward to say the least. Navid joined his 'ex', Charlotte, on the show (you'll see why ex is in quotation marks in a second). There was clearly a bit a miscommunication in their relationship, as Navid thought the two had been dating for four years, whilst Charlotte claimed to have never seen Navid in a romantic way (oof).
Things got off to a bad start considering Navid took Charlotte to a steakhouse, despite the fact she was a vegetarian and had been for the entire time they had known each other (yikes).
She also shared the fact that Navid "is obsessed with celebrity culture. He brought tickets all around Europe to see Nicki Minaj on the same tour".
Side-note, if you go on Navid's Instagram you will see he has met many celebrities, from Nicki Minaj, Emma Bunton and Naomi Campbell to... Michelle Obama? Yes you heard us right, that isn't a picture taken at Madame Tussauds, that's the real deal.
On Eating with My Ex, Charlotte claimed to have never even seen Navid as her boyfriend saying, "Nothing’s happened, nothing’s happening, nothing will ever happen because I don’t see you like that."
Charlotte went on to question why Navid had seen things in a romantic way, when in the span of four years they would only see each other twice a month. On top of this Charlotte claimed there had never been any sexual attraction or any kind of intimacy between the two.
She went on to say, "I’ve not kissed you, we don’t hold hands, we don’t do anything," and flat out said that as she doesn't have any attraction towards him.

Charlotte added that he should have asked her if he was her boyfriend as it would have cleared up any confusion between the two (especially on Navid's side).
In a confessional Navid then claimed he was "flabbergasted" to hear what Charlotte had said before going on to say, "I’m hurt but life is life, what can you say?"
This interaction made for some cringeworthy telly viewers will likely not have forgotten. So as Navid joins The Apprentice, another BBC show, it's likely some viewers will recognise him from this awkward appearance. We just hope this previous reality TV experience doesn't hinder his chances on The Apprentice.
