Who doesn't dream of getting away from the rat race and buying a sprawling house in the country, complete with sensational views?
Anyone?
Well, back in 2020 (remember, lockdown?) Love Island 2016 golden couple Olivia and Alex Bowen did and it's the perfect home for their family after welcoming their baby boy into the world in June 2022.
The former Love Island contestant tweeted, "We looked at our new house a year ago and finally we’re here. It was all meant to happen and it’s fallen into place. I am lost for words. I have never felt this way about a house before! I am so grateful. This is part of our new garden 😭 can’t believe we’re gonna be waking up to this."
She also posted a picture of their garden, which is indeed an Eden-like paradise, featuring a huge pond overhung by a weeping willow tree and sprawling lawn.
Cue summer BBQ fantasies and endless warm evenings rolling around on the grass with Alex.
We can dream. sigh
One follower said, "Holy s--t, that is goals"
While another added, "Wow, that garden is stunning! I bet the house is a dream."
A third commented, "Can we have a house tour?"
But some of the comments had a ring of jealousy to them...
One said, "You're so lucky you have both been so popular since Love Island and people have bought into you so you can live the dream."
Another added, "No wonder literally every kid wants to be a reality star."
Over two years on Olivia and Alex have been hard at work renovating the house. Here's what it looks like so far.
The kitchen
Every house needs a good kitchen. It's the heart of the home and Olivia and Alex clearly appreciate this as their kitchen is absolutely GORGEOUS. Just look at it - what more could you want from a kitchen. It even comes with a boiling water tap. Honestly, we're sold (not that we could ever afford the house).
The dressing room
Ah another essential, the dressing room - a wardrobe suits us fine but just imagine having a room purely dedicated to clothes. We can at least dream, can't we? Well Olivia and Alex don't have to dream, they've only gone and made it a reality. Just look at how far the room has come with all the renovations. Lovely stuff.
The guest room
Olivia and Alex's house is perfect for guests with their lovely garden and entertaining space and one of the cosiest guest bedrooms we've ever seen. Often these rooms can feel like a bit of an after thought, but it's clear Olivia and Alex had something special in mind for this room and WE LOVE IT (although we're partly saying this with the hope that we'll be invited to stay one day).
It's even complete with its own en suite, giving guests all the privacy they could possibly want.
The BBQ & bar area
Ah yes, what house would be complete without a BBQ & bar area? None that'd we'd ever want to live in, that's for sure. But seriously, Olivia and Alex have really made this area their own and we have to say it is looking sleek and modern as anything we've seen. The perfect addition to their lovely home.
The nursery
The pair recently unveiled their nursery and we have to say it is absolutely massive. Olivia posted two pictures of the room on Instagram with the caption, "Definitely a pinch me moment to see our nursery come together ✨🥺."
Her followers were quick to congratulate her on the beautiful room. One wrote, "It’s absolutely gorgeous 😭😍."
Another commented, "It’s just beautiful 🤍 love love everything 💫 it’s a definite pinch me moment!"
The main bedroom
We are obsessed with the Bowen's main bedroom - it just looks so cozy and check out those incredible glass doors that just open it up to the outside world. Olivia said of the doors, "It’s been so lovely to open up these doors into the main bedroom, it’s literally what I dreamt of having immediately when I saw the room for the first time on the viewing."
We have to say the doors really make the room and we are super jealous of this one.
The ensuite
The bedroom is elevated even further with its beautiful ensuite. Olivia and Alex shared a series of pictures of the room, documenting its transformation from when they first moved into the house and we have to say it looks INCREDIBLE.
