The Rooneys aren’t the only football couple on the brink of returning to our screens. According to reports, Jamie Vardy has also landed a huge documentary deal celebrating his success at Leicester City. And his wife Rebekah – aka Coleen’s Wagatha Christie rival – will be taking a starring role.
After leading his team to footballing success when Leicester won the Premier League in 2016 and the FA Cup in 2021, Jamie’s career has been the stuff of sporting dreams. But in the years that followed, Leicester City faced heartbreak as their nine-year streak in the top tier came to an end, but the team were promoted back in May. Despite being 37, Jamie has claimed he has no plans to retire from football just yet. But it seems like this could be his last swing at a title, with the cameras reportedly preparing to follow him around during the final year of his contract at the club.
Jamie’s wife Rebekah, 42, is also expected to star in the one- off documentary. And given the attention that swirled around her after the Wagatha trial with Coleen two years ago and her subsequent TV appearances, she’s no stranger to the cameras. Apparently, production has already started on the film, with Netflix and Prime Video both looking to snap up the footage. And should the project clash with any Rooney reality show in the works, we could see Coleen and Rebekah once again going head to head. The WAG wars, it seems, never end.
