Stepping back from royal duties in 2020 hasn’t harmed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s fortune. It gave them the freedom to sign lucrative contracts with streaming services, although due to their limited output, they reportedly didn’t receive the full £20m from Spotify before the contract was cut short, while their mega-money Netflix deal is up for renegotiation in 2025.

On the up side, Harry’s rumoured four-book deal with Penguin Random House, worth £32m, has likely helped them lead a life of luxury across the pond, not to mention the £7m trust fund set up by his late great grandmother, the Queen Mother, which he received on his 40th birthday this year.

The pair – who also run a charity, the Archewell Foundation – spend some of their millions on investments, including 43-year-old Meghan’s brand American Riviera Orchard. They’ve just snapped up a holiday home in Portugal and also have vast outgoings, including a huge bill for private security, and the running of their £14m pad in Montecito, California, where they live with children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.

William and Kate are not just the king and queen in waiting, but their £1bn-plus fortune makes them one of the wealthiest couples in the UK. A lot of their net worth comes from owning the Duchy of Cornwall — a 135,000-acre estate, which they inherited after Queen Elizabeth II passed away in 2022.

In 2024, the estate earned them £23.6m from rents and investments. The couple, both 42, also receive income from the Sovereign Grant, which is funded by UK taxpayers – so they partly have us to thank for their huge fortune. Before Kate married into royalty, her family was already wealthy, and in 2014, the Middletons inherited a trust worth £3million – not bad for so-called commoners.

Despite being loaded, the royal couple live a relatively simple life, enjoying pub lunches with their three children and trips to the farm shop. They also have to find £80,000 a year for their kids’ private education, but it’s a drop in the ocean when you’re billionaires.

Beyoncé and Jay Z - £2bn+

While the Renaissance world tour earned her over £475m in 2023, 2024 was hardly a slow year for the 43-year-old superstar. Eighth studio album Cowboy Carter was reportedly her best-selling so far, and earned Queen B her biggest streaming week ever when it was released.

However, despite also signing a multi-million-pound deal with Levi’s, she wasn’t the main breadwinner of the household. Thanks to business investments and companies – including Roc Nation, which will earn £35m in 2024 – Jay Z is worth £1.9bn while Bey’s net worth is a mere £612m.However, her Insta and TikTok accounts boast 320m followers while Jay-Z, 54, only has 946K, so who’s the real winner?

The couple – who have three children – have no trouble finding things to splash out on, and the family regularly make use of their yacht and private jet, as well as owning mansions in Bel Air, Malibu, and East Hampton, with a penthouse in Tribeca, New York City.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce: £908m

The 34-year-old Grammy winner is worth £877m, and according to Forbes, is the first person to ever become a billionaire (in US dollars) based solely on songwriting and performing. And perform she did, with her Eras tour raking in a staggering £13.3m per show.

Although Travis, 35, is a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, he definitely isn’t tight when it comes to cash and is known for showering his GF with luxury gifts from brands like Dior and Hermès – not to mention that, like Tay, he can’t live without his private jet. She also loves to splurge and, after winning Album Of The Year at the Grammys, she reportedly bought the 30 members of her team £1,600 bags and £1,900 necklaces from Cartier.

Despite the controversy earlier in the year, where leaked documents implied that Taylor and Travis were a PR relationship, we’re glad they proved the haters wrong and are still going strong – and her 315.8m Insta and Tiktok followers, and his 9.6m all seem to agree.

David and Victoria Beckham: £445m

It’s no surprise these British pop-culture icons are on this list. As of 2024, the Inter Miami football team – which is part-owned by David, 49 – is valued at $1bn, and his stake in Authentic Brands, the world’s largest sport and entertainment licensing company, which owns the brands Reebok, Juicy Couture and Ted Baker, also earned him quite a bit of cash this year.

As for Victoria’s fashion label, after 15 years in the red, it finally started turning a profit, helped by its wildly popular beauty line and the launch of several luxury fragrances. The 50 year old also had her first high-street collaboration with Mango, and as per usual, Posh Spice is still earning her cut of royalties and merchandise income. Spice is for life, especially when it makes you a millionaire.

The couple have no trouble spending their ever-growing fortune, either, and this year are even adding a waterfront £60m Miami mansion to their enviable property portfolio.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky: £2bn+

The 36-year-old singer and owner of Fenty Beauty officially became a billionaire back in 2021, and when she was once asked her how it felt to have such a healthy bank account, she simply replied, ‘God is good.’ Well, God has been even better to her in 2024, as she’s even richer.

A$AP Rocky, 36, doesn’t do too badly, either, and is worth a cool £15m, thanks to record sales and brand ambassador deals. His public image is ever so slightly marred by the fact that he is still facing trial after pleading not guilty to firearm charges dating back to 2021, but the controversy is unlikely to make too big of a dent in the couple’s net worth.

Elton John and David Furnish: £520m

With his personal net worth now around £475m amid record-breaking album sales, the Rocket Man can keep his vow never to tour again – even though it’s rumoured that he could earn £63m for a single performance.

Elton, 77, has no problem spending his hard-earned cash – he’s thrown some of the most lavish bashes in Hollywood and notoriously once blew through £40m in under 20 months. Now, he and his also-minted husband, film producer David, 62, own two LA mansions, where they bring up sons Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively: £300m

It’s been a rocky year for actress Blake, 37, following her controversial It Ends With Us press junkets. There, fans were less than thrilled with her blasé answers surrounding domestic abuse, but the fact remains this couple are a force to be reckoned with.

This is reflected in their whopping £300m fortune – though this is largely in part to Ryan’s £281m, thanks to the 48 year old’s Aviation Gin company, his brand partnerships, and his appearance in Deadpool And Wolverine where his base salary alone was £15m.
