After three years together – during which they welcomed son Billy – Sheridan Smith and fiancé Jamie Horn have split. The couple announced last week in an official statement, “It is with great sadness that we have decided to have some time apart. We both remain completely committed to raising our beautiful boy Billy together.”
Their relationship wasn’t the most conventional – the pair met on Tinder and were engaged just a month later. A source close to the actress – who recently celebrated her 40th birthday – tells heat that their romance had been full of highs and lows.
“They’ve done their best to keep things civil with their joint statement, but it’s no secret to those that know them that a lot has gone on behind closed doors,” we’re told. “Sheridan never really got on with Jamie’s family and the feeling seems to be reciprocated. Everyone feels they are better off out of each other’s lives. Their romance together has been a total roller coaster and not an enjoyable one for those around them.”
Just a year into her relationship with Jamie, a former insurance broker, Sheridan accused his mother of being responsible for one of her dog’s deaths. Taking to Twitter, she branded her mother-in-law-to-be a “nut job”, saying, “This woman is capable of anything. Also, her son hates me like she does, and they threaten me every day. There, it’s out there. God knows how this will end, but I love y’all.”
