A Vicky Pattison wedding was never going to be plain sailing. After a brief engagement to Geordie Shore co-star Ricci Guarnaccio in 2012, and a split from second fiancé John Noble just months before they were due to head down the aisle in 2018, the 36 year old is finally set to tie the knot with Ercan Ramadan in Italy this summer.

But just weeks before her big day, Vicky's road to the altar has taken yet another diversion as she was dramatically rushed to hospital after being left “unable to physically move”.

Posting on Instagram, the reality star told her followers that she had suspected glandular fever, as well as an infection and an abscess in her throat, writing, “I haven’t allowed myself any downtime this year. I have burnt the candle at both ends, worked a punishing schedule and ignored all signs that my body was desperate for a break.”

Vicky went on to say that she felt “drained” and “overwhelmed”, adding, “This has been the wake-up call I needed, but I’m angry with myself that I let it go this far.”

Although she’s out of hospital, a source tells heat Vicky is now worried that she may have to cancel her big day again. “She’s in a really bad way. Her body is really weak and she needs to rest,” says our insider.

“She was so busy with her radio show, brand deals and wedding plans, that she ignored all the signs and it all got on top of her. It’s like her body went into overdrive. She’s been advised to rest – and she doesn’t have a choice. If she doesn’t, she’ll get worse.”

The source continues, “She’s really worried about the wedding. Everything is up in the air and all depends on her recovery. It’s a really tough time for her, but she knows that if she stresses about it, it’ll only make her health worse. Right now, she’s trying to put all thoughts of it to the back of her mind and focus solely on her health. If she listens to the doctors and rests, she’s hopeful she’ll be back to her old self soon – and that she be OK for the big day. She really wants the wedding to go ahead, but she has to slow down or she knows she won’t recover properly.”

Vicky shared her delight at being discharged from the hospital and being allowed to go back home to her two Labradors, admitting she was “super happy to be home, back to my boys and my bed”, adding, “I’m already beginning to feel more like myself.”

Among the snaps she shared of her recovery was one of her resting her head on fiancé Ercan’s shoulder, and our insider says he’s been doing everything he can to care for his fiancé.

“He is really worried about her,” we’re told. “He’s been at her bedside 24/7 and is giving her round-the-clock care. He’s trying to keep her spirits up. It’s been a really frightening experience for everyone around her. All of Vicky’s friends are hoping she’ll be well enough for the wedding, but her health comes first. Vicky is a strong woman and she’s determined to recover and get back to her old self as soon as she can.”

And her recovery will no doubt be documented, as it has been revealed she has inked a deal for a TV show to follow the lead-up to her big day.

Speaking about her nuptials, Vicky has said, “We can’t wait to start this next chapter of our lives surrounded by our incredible friends and family. I’m finally getting my happily ever after.”

Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery, Vicky.
