Dancing On Ice's Wes Nelson has spoken out about his break-up with Love Island co-star Megan Barton Hanson, as well as slamming rumours about a potential romance between him and skating partner Vanessa Bauer, telling OK! magazine, "Vanessa is not my cup of tea."
It has been a drama-filled couple of weeks for the pair since announcing their split in late January, and after dividing the nation's hearts over their attempt to co-parent their pet hamster Jon Snow, Wes has finally set the record straight on the break-up.
The 20-year-old explained that the split was in fact a "mutual decision", branding it "silly" for Megan to say he didn't fight for her.
Speaking to OK! he said, "I didn’t just say, 'That’s it. I’m done.' Fight for what? We both ended the relationship. If she wanted me to say more or do more that day I didn’t know that."
Wes spoke of how he still loves Megan, but "loving someone doesn’t mean that they are the right person for you."
Powering through, the star has made it through yet another week in Dancing On Ice, taking to Instagram to write, 'Thank you so much for all your support tonight, I can’t tell you how much it means to us! Nothing but love for all of you guys voting week on week! ❤️🕺🏾 @dancingonice @vanessabauer_skates' [sic].
We caught up with Megan last week, and the star revealed exclusively to heat that her and Wes are "Still very much in love as friends", and "Whoever ends up with him is very lucky."

The 24-year-old model also went onto clear up a few other rumours, including the current relationship status of Adam Collard and Zara McDermott and alleged 'shade' thrown at Georgia Steel.
The drama doesn't stop with the Love Island 2018 crew; with reports revealing the aftermath of a wild night out shared between Adam and fellow islanders Jack Fincham and Sam Bird, and Kaz Crossley announcing her and Josh Denzel's shock break-up, we can barely keep up! Thankfully Adam was around to keep heat in the loop.
Despite a tough few weeks, we wish Wes good luck as Dancing On Ice continues this Sunday, 17th February.
