Islander Amy Hart revealed she’s lost friends since appearing on Love Island in an emotional message documented on her Instagram page.

Attending a homecoming party thrown in her honour, Amy stood at the top of a staircase and thanked her “real friends” for supporting her through her major life transition, adding that sadly some hadn’t been able to do so.

“The criteria for today’s invitation list was as follows - nice to me before the villa, supportive whilst I was in the villa, and nice to me when I came out of the villa,” she said, her voice breaking with emotion.

“A lot of people that have been in my life for a long time didn’t actually meet that criteria… which is really sad but I am so grateful that I have all of you. And I know you are my real friends because a lot of you were banned from Facebook during the time I was in the villa.”

Amy didn’t have an easy time of it in the villa, initially finding what she believed to be her first love in Curtis Pritchard, before getting dumped after Casa Amor and having to watch him crack on with Irish model Maura Higgins.

Her sensational decision to quit the villa for her “own sanity” won over the public and her career has since gone from strength to strength, with a guest slot on Loose Women that resulted in calls for a permanent slot.

She also posted a couple of glam shots from the party, with one showing her sat on the floor in front of giant letters spelling her name in lights.

'I’m a lucky lucky girl ❤️,' she captioned the post. 'Welcome home party today to say thank you to everyone who’s supported me throughout my life.' [sic]
